Great Britain Journals Press recently published a blog based on my article, “Is Primary Hypothyroidism Truly Primary? A Systems-Based Reframing of Thyroid Dysfunction.”

The article explores how thyroid health may be influenced by much more than the thyroid gland alone—including inflammation, nutrient status, gut health, mitochondrial function, stress, and environmental factors.

I’m grateful to see this work highlighted and shared with a broader audience.

My Oura Ring thought I was stressed… 😆🎶

Turns out, it was picking up the excitement of seeing No Doubt at the Sphere in Vegas with some amazing friends!

A good reminder that not all stress is bad. Excitement, anticipation, laughter, music, and meaningful social connections can activate the nervous system in ways that wearables may label as “stress.”

Sometimes “stressed” really means you’re having an incredible time. ❤️

The key is making sure those periods of activation are balanced with recovery, sleep, and restoration.

Anyone else have their wearable interpret fun as stress? 🙋‍♀️

✨ New Publication! ✨

I'm excited to share my latest published review:

📖 Non-Thyroidal Illness Syndrome as an Adaptive Longevity Program: Reframing Low T3 in Acute and Chronic Disease

🔗 Link in comments/bio

When T3 levels fall during illness, is it always a problem to fix?

In this paper, I explore the idea that low T3 may sometimes represent an adaptive response designed to help the body conserve energy, reduce oxidative stress, and improve survival during times of physiologic stress.

Topics include:
🦋 Thyroid physiology
⚡ Mitochondrial function
🔥 Inflammation
🧠 Stress biology
⏳ Longevity pathways
🔬 Systems-based endocrinology

As our understanding of thyroid health evolves, it's becoming increasingly important to look beyond laboratory values alone and consider the body's adaptive responses.

I'm grateful to contribute to this growing conversation.

🎉 Excited to hear your thoughts on this evolving perspective on thyroid physiology and metabolic adaptation.

✨ Exciting news! ✨

My newest publication is now available in Integrative Medicine: A Clinician's Journal:

📖 Peptide Therapies in Thyroid Health: Emerging Applications in Endocrine and Immune Modulation

Peptides are becoming an increasingly important area of interest in medicine, with potential applications ranging from immune modulation and tissue repair to metabolic and endocrine health.

In this review, I explore the emerging science behind peptide therapies and their possible role in supporting thyroid function and addressing autoimmune thyroid conditions, while emphasizing the need for continued research and evidence-based application.

I'm grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this growing field and excited to see where the science leads next.

Had a wonderful time presenting at in San Diego! ☀️

My talk, “When Patients with Hypothyroidism Speak, Are We Listening?”, focused on the importance of looking beyond lab values and taking a truly personalized approach to thyroid care.

Hypothyroidism is about more than a TSH level. Symptoms, nutrition, gut health, autoimmunity, lifestyle factors, and the patient’s lived experience all matter when creating an effective treatment plan.

Thank you to everyone who joined the session and contributed to a great discussion. I always enjoy connecting with clinicians who are passionate about advancing thyroid care and improving patient outcomes.

💙 Listening to patients is where personalized medicine begins.

✨ Sneak peek behind the scenes with and Kilo Health!

We’ve been working on an exciting new course covering the gut-metabolism connection, cravings, fatigue, hormones, GLP-1 strategies, and metabolic health in midlife women 💡

So grateful to collaborate with Kristina Žalnieraitė and Jessica Tosto on such an important and timely project 🤍

Can’t wait to share more soon!

✨ Excited to be speaking at in Las Vegas! ✨

I’ll be joining Barbara Dehn, NP, for a luncheon product theater:

🦋 When Patients With Hypothyroidism Speak, Are We Listening?

We’ll be discussing a patient-centered approach to thyroid hormone replacement and exploring real-world cases in hypothyroidism management.

So many patients continue to struggle with fatigue, brain fog, weight changes, and other symptoms despite “normal” labs — and it’s time we listen more closely. 💙

DHEA + thyroid health = a conversation we need to have more often 👀

Low DHEA can sometimes overlap with symptoms we commonly associate with thyroid dysfunction:
✨ Fatigue
✨ Brain fog
✨ Low resilience to stress
✨ Mood changes
✨ Metabolic shifts

The endocrine system is deeply interconnected — thyroid hormones, adrenal signaling, stress physiology, inflammation, and mitochondrial health all influence one another.

Sometimes the question isn’t just “What’s the TSH?”
It’s: “What is the body trying to tell us as a whole?”

A systems-based approach matters. 🦋

What if PCOS (recently changed to PMOS) & endometriosis are about more than hormones alone? 👀

I’m excited to be joining the Nestlé Nutrition Institute for an upcoming webinar:
✨ Beyond Hormones: A Metabolic Approach to PCOS & Endometriosis ✨

We’ll be talking about:
💡 metabolism + inflammation
💡 nutrition strategies
💡 blood sugar balance
💡 fertility & IVF support
💡 practical clinical pearls for whole-person care

These conditions are often approached through a hormone-only lens — but there’s so much more to the story.
