Dallas Jenkins, Creator of The Chosen WOW’d the crowd at
“Loaves and Fish: From Failure to The Chosen!”
What a night of blessing and inspiration to host Dallas Jenkins, the Creator, Director and Co-Writer of the hit series The Chosen!
“Loaves and Fish: From Failure to The Chosen” was a beautiful partnership with our sister ministry, St. Luke’s Church and was held in their amazing sanctuary. Ticket sales benefited the Haven’s Benevolent Care Ministry so while folks were inspired by Dallas’ authentic, vulnerable and inspiring keynote address, they were also providing gifts of love to help our wonderful residents in need.
Dallas told several authentic, impactful and vulnerable stories of how the Lord has worked in him throughout the entirety of this magnificent series to the final filming of Season 7 which will air in Spring of 2027. The audience gave him several standing ovations and such thoughtful questions during the concluding Q & A. Dallas and his wife, Amanda, exuded such warmth and were so gracious to everyone. Amanda authors The Chosen’s in-depth Bible studies and Dallas readily admits that The Chosen is merely a companion to them and not the other way around.
Dallas’ goal throughout The Chosen has always been to inspire people to open their Bibles! He humbly talked about how this series is not a replacement for scripture but to always look to the word of God. Every scene and script is thoroughly examined and discussed in- depth with his team of Biblical scholars and a Messianic Rabbi to ensure scriptural integrity, cultural authenticity, plausibility and accuracy. And it has worked! Bible sales have increased, much of which has been credited to the viewership of The Chosen!
Millions of people around the globe have deeply appreciated this multi-season, in-depth series with a renewed faith, and/or a newly sparked curiosity about Jesus. What so many millions have seen and appreciate is Dallas’ tremendous ability to display the humanity of Jesus while not diminishing His divinity. Dallas also spoke briefly about his exciting, upcoming projects which will feature the stories of Josph and later the story of Moses!
It was a magical, inspiring evening that showed how God can take what is seemingly a failure and transform his people and their purposes to touch others for His glory! If you haven’t seen The Chosen, you can find it on several streaming platforms including The Chosen app, Amazon Prime, Peacock, among others.
We are so very grateful to our sponsors, our beloved St. Luke’s Church, our many volunteers and to everyone who purchased tickets. You made this a very memorable evening while supporting the Benevolent Care Ministry at Lutheran Haven. So many at the Haven have spent their lives in service to the Lord and others. It is the legacy and continuation of our founder’s vision thanks to everyone who has joined us in supporting this beautiful sustaining ministry!
