The Strawberry Festival is tomorrow, June 19th! As you can see, these no parking signs are posted along the streets around the office. No parking will take effect at 2pm tomorrow afternoon, so please keep that in mind if you have an appointment with us. Another note is that we will also be closing a bit early, at 4pm, because of all the traffic there will be.

Please Read! If you will be coming to our office at any point this morning parking will be available further down either side of Main Street.
There is an event today for the big steam engine coming to Owego, and the parking on Main is closed right in front of the office unfortunately. It is all supposed to be open after 1, so the afternoon should be normal.

We see more children struggling. The auditory system predicts spoken language. Prediction is critical to word identification because the auditory signal is not adequately precise to discern random words at conversational speed. This is augmented by vision as we subconsciously watch the mouth and face of the other person.

One measure of a person’s visual status is how well they predict the future and plan movements. We usually do this so automatically that we do not recognize this critical function of vision.

Visual Perception

Visual information acquisition is highly dependent on focus, precise eye alignment, the ability to follow a moving object accurately, quick and accurate tracking across a page, and scanning. All eye movements other than reflexive movements caused by potential threats require the coordination of top-down (efferent) and bottom-up (afferent) communication. This coordination is learned through the failures and successes of purposeful experience.
