A very special thank you to CSM(R) Dylan LeMasters for spending time with our veterans and sharing his incredible presentation, “Mission: The Italian Job.”

Dylan gave our veterans a firsthand look into a daytime rescue operation in Iraq, sharing his experiences, photographs, and the courage, teamwork, and brotherhood behind the mission.

There is something truly special about bringing veterans together in a space where they can connect through shared experiences and a bond that only those who have served can fully understand.

Thank you, Dylan, for your service to our country and for taking the time to share your story with us. And, as always, thank you to each of our veterans for the sacrifices you have made and the service you have given. We are so grateful for you! 🇺🇸

🎨 Celebrating the Art of Jack! 🇨🇦

We had such a wonderful afternoon celebrating the incredible talent and life story of our resident artist, Jack!

Approximately 40 residents, friends, and neighbors came through Jack’s apartment to view his personal art collection and hear more about the stories behind his work. Jack’s collection showcases an incredible range of artistic styles and mediums—from beautiful landscapes and detailed drawings to historical character sketches, watercolors, woodcut-style pieces, and bold abstract works.

His collection even includes pieces such as “City Hall of West Mount Quebec,” “Dearly Beloved,” “Sugar Time,” “Captain Morgan,” “Young Golfer,” and “Ultimate Space.” And what we were able to see today is only part of the story—Jack has so much more of his artwork in storage back in Canada!

One of our favorite reminders here at The Residences at Wellpoint is that everybody has a story to tell. Our residents have lived extraordinary lives filled with talents, careers, adventures, passions, and experiences that deserve to be shared.

We are so grateful to Jack for opening his apartment, sharing his artwork, and allowing us to experience this special part of his life. ❤️

Today wasn’t simply an art show—it was an opportunity to learn a little more about the man behind the art. Thank you, Jack, for sharing your story with us! 🎨🇨🇦

Calling All Veterans!

Please join us for a special presentation on Monday, September 7th at 3:00 PM, presented by CSM(R) Dylan LeMasters.

All veterans are warmly invited to attend!

As this presentation is part of our Monthly Veterans Gathering, we respectfully ask that attendance be limited to veterans only. This dedicated time is intended to provide our veterans with an opportunity to gather, connect, and share fellowship with others who have served.

We look forward to honoring and spending this special time with our veterans!

🏙️ Building Big for National Skyscraper Day! 🏙️

In honor of National Skyscraper Day, we put our engineering skills to the test and challenged ourselves to build our very own skyscrapers using a variety of everyday supplies!

We even recruited ChatGPT as our “architect” to draw up a blueprint based on the exact supplies we had available—and then it was up to our residents to bring the design to life!

Activities like this are so much more than just fun. Building and problem-solving challenges our brains by encouraging critical thinking, spatial awareness, creativity, hand-eye coordination, planning, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Every decision—from creating a sturdy base to figuring out how to make the tower taller without sending it tumbling—gave our brains a workout!

Who knew cups, straws, craft sticks, tape, and a little imagination could turn us into skyscraper engineers for the afternoon?! 🏗️🧠

Every resident has a story worth preserving.

This month's theme "A Night at the Museum", will have our communities become living museums where memories, traditions, and life experiences take center stage. Through treasured keepsakes, family stories, music, photographs, and meaningful conversations, we'll celebrate the incredible journeys that have shaped each resident's unique legacy.

As we celebrate our Charter Wide Fun Day, National Museum Day on September 26, we invite everyone to become both a storyteller and a curator of the moments that matter most. We encourage families to join us by sharing photographs, treasured mementos, and meaningful stories that help bring each resident's personal museum to life.

Together, we'll discover that the greatest exhibits aren't found behind glass. They're found in the people who call Charter home.

For information on upcoming programs, please see your Community Life Engagement Director.

Today’s Total Brain Health class was all about putting our minds to work in a fun and creative way! Residents challenged themselves with puzzle recreation and sticker-by-number activities—both excellent exercises for concentration, problem-solving, visual processing, memory, and fine motor skills.

Keeping our brains active doesn’t have to feel like work! Activities like these give us an opportunity to think, focus, create, and enjoy a sense of accomplishment along the way. Another great day of exercising our minds and having fun while doing it!

🍰🍮 Resident Dessert Showcase! 🥧✨

We had the sweetest time at our Resident Dessert Showcase this week! Our residents were encouraged to whip up their favorite homemade desserts and bring them to share with everyone—and they definitely delivered!

We enjoyed a delicious homemade flan, an incredible rum cake, and scrumptious banana cream pies! 😍 There’s just something extra special about sharing homemade treats, favorite recipes, and good conversation with friends.

A huge thank you to our talented resident bakers who shared their creations with us. We’re already looking forward to the next delicious showcase! ❤️

At Residences at Wellpoint, we believe staying informed, engaged, and connected to the world around us should continue at every stage of life.

Residences at Wellpoint does not endorse, support, or affiliate with any political party or candidate. Our goal is simply to provide opportunities for our residents to hear directly from those seeking public office, ask questions, and remain informed about the issues that may impact them, their families, and the state they call home.

Today, we had the opportunity to privately welcome Democratic candidate for Governor, Doug Jones, to our community. Mr. Jones spoke with our senior residents about his campaign, his priorities, and what he hopes to accomplish for the State of Alabama if elected.

In the spirit of fairness and nonpartisanship, we have extended the same invitation to Senator Tommy Tuberville. Should he accept, we will host a similar private, non-publicized gathering exclusively for our residents and their families to hear directly from him as well.

Many of our residents are members of generations that have witnessed extraordinary chapters in our nation’s history. They have worked, served, raised families, built communities, and participated in our democracy for decades. Their voices, questions, and perspectives still matter tremendously.

We are proud to create opportunities that allow our residents to continue learning, asking questions, staying politically informed, and participating in the civic process.

At Wellpoint, senior living doesn’t mean stepping away from the conversation — it means continuing to have a seat at the table.

🍂 Fall is starting to make its way to Wellpoint! 🍁

Another beautiful craft led by our wonderful volunteer, Darlene! Our residents created these adorable autumn wreaths, and they’re the perfect way to kick-start our décor as we get ready to welcome fall! 🧡

We are so thankful for Darlene and the creativity, time, and joy she continues to share with our residents! 🍂✨
