✨ Our Race to 500 Births Fundraiser is officially LIVE! ✨

We're just a few births away from a huge milestone, supporting our 500th birth—and we want to celebrate it with our incredible community!

Here's how you can be part of it:

💜 Our fundraiser board has numbers 1–100 (5 times) on Post-it notes.
💜 Choose any available number you'd like to claim.
💜 Donate the amount of the number you choose (claim #25 = donate $25, claim #100 = donate $100, etc.) via PayPal at paypal.me/hopesembraceky
💜 Once your donation is received, we'll remove that Post-it from the board! Check back weekly for board updates.

Our goal is to have every single Post-it claimed before we welcome our 500th baby. Every dollar helps us continue providing compassionate doula care, education, and support to families in our community.

Ready to claim your number? Send us a message OR PayPal us with your number to reserve it! Together, let's celebrate 500 births by making sure even more families receive the support they deserve.

We promise we haven't fallen off the face of the earth...

If you've been wondering where we've been, social media might have you thinking we've disappeared. 😅

The reality? We've just been a little busy...

Supporting families at births.
Teaching childbirth classes.
Hosting Zoom meetings and study groups.
Answering your calls and messages.
Traveling for trainings.
And squeezing in plenty of learning ourselves!

Because if we're asking you to trust us with one of life's biggest moments, we believe we should always be growing, learning, and bringing you the very best care.

Here's what we've been up to...

Anne has been continuing her education through Body Ready Method® and Infant Massage training as part of her massage therapy continuing education. She's adding even more tools to help support comfort during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum.

Emma has been diving into functional maternity bloodwork, labs and medications, completed her Phlebotomy Certification, continued her education in Homeopathy, and has been traveling to complete the hands-on skills portion of her midwifery training.

And with all of that comes a little update...

Emma is stepping away from attending births as a doula so she can focus on her midwifery education and training. She'll still be teaching childbirth education classes alongside Anne and will serve as Anne's backup doula when she's in town.

Moving forward, Anne will be our primary doula.
If you've met Anne, you already know what an incredible presence she is. She's calm, knowledgeable, compassionate, and an amazing advocate for the families she serves.

We've also been busy creating some new offerings—including our next round of childbirth education classes with an emphasis on how your partner can best support you( although this isn’t necessarily new we’ve been getting more and more requests on helping the partner with specifics), new bodywork education, infant massage, and homeopathy classes that we'll be sharing very soon!

Thank you for sticking with us while we've been a little quieter online. We haven't gone anywhere—we've just been busy growing so we can serve our families even better.

We can't wait to show you what's next! 🤍

This is just the beginning of learning how to get your body ready for birth. There's no end to videos on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram that promise you the perfect birth. And over the years, I've watched my share of them. The Body Ready Method caught my attention because it not only teaches the what, but also the why and and the how. Backed by research and a solid understanding of the workings of the body and the physiological act of birth. We focus on the individual body that is right there in front of us and address the unique areas of tension not with a one size fits all program but one designed specifically for each unique momma.
Coupled with 22 years as a licensed massage therapist and 11 years in the birthworld as a doula, The Body Ready Method helps me to connect the dots and give excellent support to my clients. If you'd like to learn more about BRM or how massage can help you in pregnancy, labor, birth, and beyond check out our website at westernkybirthservices.com

Breastfeeding mommas!

We are so excited to announce that we will be hosting a FREE community breastfeeding support group twice a month starting in March! We are starting out with holding them on the 1st Friday and 3rd Wednesday of every month at 1pm. We may make adjustments to the schedule as the needs of attendees dictate. The groups will be facilitated the amazing Kelsay Corlew, RDN, IBCLC, and one of our own IBCLC/RNs from The Knapp Clinic.

Please note the support group on the same floor, in the same building as the clinic, but will be held in suite 306.

Unlike cookie cutter/one size fits all prenatal programs, doulas who teach in-person have the ability them to meet their clients where they are. Doulas can give support & tips that are specific to the woman's body & her individual situation. Often online programs teach specific birth techniques, yet are lacking in when to utilize them, the focus is on active labor. We believe the real work of labor and delivery starts well before the first contraction.

Just a reminder, we have an upcoming childbirth class on February 21 from 10a-12p.

Want to know the most powerful labor tool?

Not a birth ball.
Not a position.
Not a breathing technique.

Feeling safe.

When your brain feels safe, your body releases oxytocin. When oxytocin flows, labor progresses.

Your birth team matters more than you think.
Choose wisely. 💌

A wonderful local resource!

Why consider it postpartum or prepping for a future pregnancy?
• Helps improve bladder leakage
• Supports core stability
• Reduces pelvic heaviness
• Aids in overall pelvic floor recovery
• Non-invasive and no downtime

Whether you’re 6 weeks postpartum or 6 years postpartum — it’s never “too late” to support your healing.

If you’re:
• Mapping out bathrooms before you leave
• Avoiding workouts or social events
• Crossing your legs when you laugh, cough, or sneeze

Your body is asking for support — not silence.

💺 Emsella® uses high-intensity electromagnetic stimulation to activate and retrain the pelvic floor muscles — equivalent to thousands of Kegels in one session.

No surgery. No downtime. No awkwardness.

Stop planning your life around leaks.
Start living with confidence again.
