We are aware of a social media post circulating that references Bluegrass Internal Medicine and concerns about patient information security.

At this time, Bluegrass Internal Medicine has not experienced a known data breach involving our office systems, nor have we received any notification from our Epic electronic medical record provider, Deaconess Health System, of such an event.

Protecting patient privacy and medical information is something we take extremely seriously. Our office utilizes secure electronic medical record systems and follows HIPAA privacy and security standards designed to safeguard patient information.

Unfortunately, Medicare and insurance fraud can occur in many ways across the healthcare system and does not necessarily indicate a breach at a physician’s office. If any individual believes fraudulent claims have been submitted using their information, we encourage them to contact Medicare directly and report the concern immediately.

Because of federal privacy laws, we cannot discuss any specific individual or billing matter publicly. If you have questions or concerns regarding your Bluegrass Internal Medicine account feel free to contact our certified billing staff.

We appreciate the trust our patients place in us and remain committed to providing high-quality, convenient, and independently owned medical care for our community.
