Drop a ✨ if you needed to hear this today.

You use your imagination all day long.

You imagine what could go wrong. What people might think. What might not work out.

And before you know it, you've talked yourself out of something that hasn't even happened.

So here's a thought: What if you started using that same imagination to picture things going right?

To imagine yourself figuring it out.
To imagine the opportunity working out better than expected.
To imagine that maybe the thing you're worried about right now is actually leading you somewhere better.

That's a much better use of your imagination ❤️

Schizophrenia most commonly develops in late adolescence to early adulthood (ages 16 to 30). The average onset is the late teens to early 20s for men, and the late 20s to early 30s for women. Onset is typically preceded by a "prodromal" phase involving subtle behavioral and cognitive changes.

The Prodromal (Early Warning) Phase

Up to 75% of individuals experience a prodromal stage, which can precede full psychosis by months or up to five years. Early signs include:
*Social Withdrawal: Isolating from friends and family.
*Academic/Work Decline: Sudden drops in performance or motivation.
*Neglected Hygiene: Lack of interest in personal appearance or daily care.
*Mood Changes: Increased irritability, anxiety, or depression. (Mayo Clinic ❤️)

Stress does not look the same in everyone.

For some people, it looks like panic, anger, tears, racing thoughts or feeling completely out of control.

For others, it looks like silence, numbness, shutting down, withdrawing, avoiding people or saying “I am fine” when they are not.

This can happen to children, teenagers and adults.

When someone is overwhelmed, their body may move into survival mode. They may not be trying to be difficult, rude, dramatic or uncaring. They may be struggling to cope with more than their nervous system can manage in that moment.

That is why understanding emotional regulation matters.

Sometimes people need space.
Sometimes they need connection.
Sometimes they need movement, rest, reassurance, routine, breathing, comfort or simply someone calm beside them.

We all have limits.
We all need safety.
We all need people who try to understand what is happening underneath the behaviour.
