Great news. Earlier introduction of allergenic foods have decreased food allergies. This study was for eggs but other studies have shown same for other allergens.

A cross-sectional study comparing 2 Australian population-based cohorts found that updated infant feeding guidelines recommending egg introduction by 6 months were associated with a 17.7% relative reduction in egg allergy prevalence.

Protein is important at all ages, but lately it seems the drive for more protein ignores having a balanced diet. In this AMA Webinar, all the presenters agreed that a diet more focused on whole foods and less on highly processed foods was ideal for a healthier America.

Physicians should advise against “superfood” gimmicks. Focus on the age and dietary patterns of their patients in recommending protein choices.
