Bonnie and Jess are headed to IDA next week to present a session on using zines as a way to enhance explicit writing instruction.

Effective communication (also reading, writing, and problem solving) is all about patterns.

Language is filled with patterns we use, all day, every day, to get just about everything we have to do done.

Brain Frames are six visual tools that help organize language according to those patterns.

Hey SLPs! What would you say to an automated language sample analysis tool that uses AI, allows you to upload a narrative sample, and gives you a *MISL report within 30 seconds?

(*MISL = Monitoring indicators of scholarly language: A progress monitoring tool for measuring complexity in narrative macrostructure. It's similar to the Test of Narrative Language)

Pretty fantastic, right? It's being developed right now! Professor Sandra Gillam and her development partners will be in our online Lounge Tuesday night to tell us all about it. It's going to be brilliant!

It's an absolute honor to work for a company that not only holds its commitment to literacy for all sacred, but also its stewardship to the land the company occupies.

Thank you to all of the Wilson employees and the town of Oxford's DPW for banding together last week to clear out some of the public space in town.

The writing process can be a long and somewhat mysterious journey for students-- and for the teachers who have to demystify it for them.

That's just one of the reasons we're thrilled to be offering another online EmPOWER course.
