Mouse here is one of my longest running clients since moving up here.
I wanted to highlight her today because she exemplifies what I like sessions to be like for the horse, the owner, and just generally what PEMF should be about.

Results - Maybe not all of them or even the ones you thought.
Mouse is a big ole girl and she has some issues including some lameness, stringhalt, and just general old age stuff.
Has PEMF fixed any of that? Nope.
But it’s for sure helped! Evident during the times we’ve skipped sessions for one reason or another. Or, more than that, when not just her owners, but everyone at the barn comments on how great she looks when she is moving around in the field or under saddle.

Exactly where - doesn’t always matter that much.
She also shows off so well the concept that if simply applied well, the PEMF will do the heavy lifting!
Do I know exactly where mouse’s lameness is coming from? Nope.
Could I? Probably.
I could study every inch of her. Take a bunch of pics. Compare things. Watch her go. Poke. Prod. Measure. Insist her owners get radiographs of every inch, or a full lameness monitor work up.
But would all that be worth it for her situation? Would it make any difference to how I conduct her PEMF session?
Not really, because the joy of well applied PEMF is the body takes it where it needs it!
So as long the practitioner makes sure to do a comprehensive full body session, is skilled enough to read the horse and know when more or less intensity is needed, and know enough about the anatomy to know where should and shouldn’t pulse, we don’t need to know exactly where the problem is because the horse’s body does, and it will send or “take up” the PEMF there.
Now maybe that sounds like hogwash to you, but all I can say is if you use it enough on yourself, you will know this to be how it works.
It’s also not as simple as it sounds to be skilled at reading a horse, but that’s another post!
So will you see me doing crazy attention to detail hyper specific stuff during my sessions with Mouse? Nope. My focus is an effective full body session paying attention to the signs she’s giving me as I move the loops around her body.

Enjoyment - always the goal.
The final thing Mouse shows off so SO well is that the horse (or whoever is getting pulsed) SHOULD ENJOY IT!
Like seriously, this is the main goal. If the horse enjoys it you’re doing something right and good.
Do they all enjoy it from the first time you put a loop on them, or for every second of every session? Nope.
But if a horse has had multiple sessions and they don’t look like Mouse does here for the majority of the session, or they’re not getting more and more chill as the session go on, it’s time to reevaluate.

Good girl Mouse! I’m so glad I get to be a part of your healthcare team and provide your biweekly zone out sesh!!

I have had a little time open up to take on a couple more PEMF clients.
Does your horse have a specific issue that needs some help?
Or like for many of my clients, would you just like PEMF to be part of their routine healthcare maintenance?
Let me know if you have a horse I can help, or know someone with a horse that could use a little PEMF. :)

I’ve been noticing Quantum standing a little under himself lately, and almost a little over at the knee. Not normal for him, but he is an old fella now!
I’ve also totally neglected him lately as far as pulsing. So I put my bibs on and braved the cold to give him some pulsing he deserves!
Now I hate before and after pics as they are so so subjective and so subject to every tiny nuance. So I didn’t think to take a before pic.
But in that first pic below you can see where his front feet started out and where they are now after 60 mins of PEMF. A much better stance.
Not to mention he LOVES his PEMF as always!
He’s also sporting the advanced Bra position with the XXL loops! 👙😆 Don’t try it at home. Unless you are actually at home, with your own equipment, and your own perfect Quantum!

Some horses snooze sleepily into their releases. 🥱
Others… they let you know it’s coming! 📣 😂

I included 2 more videos in the comments which were seconds after the the one in the post to show that she really was comfortable with what was going on.
Horses can often exhibit the same behaviors, including yawning, if they are over stimulated by the pulse or the intensity is too high.

📸 : Lilly. Who loves her sessions, but just likes to give me fair warning she’s going to release. 🥰

Pulse to the rescue. Once again.
I shouldn’t be, but even I was 🤯at this . 😲😁😍

Pancho hurt his eye.
Had been doing routine treatment for day and a half with no improvement.
Was getting ready to call vet. Thought I’d pulse first.
2hrs after pulsing it was much improved.
Less that 24hrs after pulsing it was way way better, with no additional pain meds. 💪👊

Details —
Thursday night -
Noticed Pancho had a bum eye. Couldn’t see any scratches (often, if I can get them in the right light, I can see scratches without stain, but not always).
Gave 1/2 dose banamine (pain / anti inflammatory meds).
Applied NeoPolyBac ointment (Neosporin for eyes).

Thursday late night -
Didn’t look much better.
Another 1/2 dose banamine.
More ointment.

Friday morning -
Looked 90% better.
More ointment and left it at that.
Still couldn’t see any scratches and it’s not uncommon for them to have bummed their eye, or maybe the flies were bothering it real bad, and so they get better quick.

Friday night -
Looks like absolute 💩 without the smiley.
Another 1/2 Bana.
Multiple ointment applications.
Hopefully look better again on am.

Saturday morning -
Still looks terrible. Bad sign.
Full dose Bana.
Multiple ointment applications.

Saturday 12pm -
Still bad, and now it’s hot as hell.
Pulsed for 30 mins.
Ointment.

Saturday 2pm -
Looks much improved.
Now I can see where there’s an ulceration.
Ointment.

Saturday 4:30pm -
Looks even better.
Pulsed another 30 mins.
Looks better.
Ointment.

Saturday 11:30pm -
More improvement.
Ointment.

Sunday morning -
Looks way way better.
Hasn’t had any additional pain meds in 24rs.
