Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center

Stonewater is a privately-owned, 90 day residential program for teens struggling with mental health or substance use.

We use experiential therapies, DBT, academics, family work and purpose-focused programming to help parents get their child back, better. Stonewater is a comprehensive dual-diagnosis treatment center, addressing adolescent needs for Withdrawal Management (Detox) and Residential Care. Our individualized adolescent treatment is built on the latest scientific research and proven techniques to increase

the likelihood of successful outcomes. Our founders have been there, where you are now, and understand that your child is an individual who needs a recovery program focused on long term changes - one that provides safety, privacy, security and success. Because adolescents aren’t the only ones affected by their substance use or mental health struggles, Stonewater provides support for families through individual coaching, group therapy and other educational activities to better understand how to provide support throughout recovery. We want to see your child or loved one successful both within our walls and at home, so our programs are designed to promote a sustained, ongoing approach to overcoming issues like anxiety, depression, impulsivity or substance use and re-engaging in life as a family.

Hello Oxford! Stonewater is partnering with Connie's Chicken TODAY, February 1st, to offer free breakfast, lunch and dinner to anyone in our community with limited access to hot meals. If you have been impacted by the storm, please come to Connie's Chicken on West Jackson Avenue tomorrow from 8AM to 7PM (or until supplies run out). Workers and volunteers who have been part of the local support efforts are welcomed as well!

Looking back on 2025, we are proud to partner with events that strengthen and uplift the Oxford community. At Stonewater, we believe in supporting the wellbeing of young people both on and off our campus, which is why we were honored to sponsor Camp Bats and Balls this year.

The camp offers boys in 2nd, 3rd & 4th grades the opportunity to learn baseball skills from the Ole Miss Baseball team at the Manning Center, while providing a safe and encouraging space to explore sports and build friendships.

We are grateful for the Junior Auxiliary of Oxford, the Ole Miss Athletics Department, and everyone who pours their heart into this incredible program.

Stonewater is proud to partner with Dr. Dan Villiers for an upcoming clinical webinar focused on thoughtful, family-centered care.

Join us for “Transdiagnostic Assessment and Family-Centered Treatment Planning for Anxiety and Related Disorders,” presented by Dan Villiers, PhD.

This session will explore practical frameworks for understanding anxiety through a transdiagnostic lens and building treatment plans that actively engage families in the healing process.

Dr. Villiers, PhD, is the co-founder of Mountain Valley Treatment Center and the Anxiety Institute, with over 20 years of experience treating complex youth anxiety. He specializes in family-based exposure therapy and OCD treatment, helping teens overcome perfectionism, avoidance, and self-sabotage.

We look forward to learning alongside clinicians and providers who share our commitment to compassionate care for adolescents and families.

It takes immense courage to share your story, especially when it’s born from loss. The family of Thomas Mayo has shown this courage in their efforts to help other families experiencing loss. Thomas was an Ole Miss college student whose life was tragically cut short after taking a fentanyl-laced pill.

Thomas’s story is a powerful reminder that even one pill can be deadly and that education and awareness save lives. We’re deeply grateful to his family for selflessly sharing their experience and advocating for mental health through The Mayo Lab Podcast and the Drug Enforcement Administration’s One Pill Can Kill campaign. By turning their pain into purpose, they’re helping others better understand the realities of substance use and the dangers of fentanyl.

Stonewater’s National Outreach Manager Kyle Pillans had the privilege of being a featured speaker at the 2025 Illuminate the Path: Mental Health & Education Conference.

Her breakout session, “How to Address Substance Use Disorder Prevention in Schools: Concepts & Activities for School Counselors and Providers,” equipped educators and mental health professionals with practical tools to promote student wellness and prevention.

The conference offered a full lineup of sessions on mental health awareness, grief support, digital well-being, trauma-informed care, SUD prevention, social-emotional learning (SEL), and staff resilience.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate and look forward to strengthening our shared commitment to building healthier, more resilient communities for students and their families.

Ma*****na’s “natural” image hides serious risks: chronic bronchitis, cardiovascular strain, and immune suppression. Long-term use in teens can harm lungs, heart health, and immune systems, raising risks of stroke and respiratory illness. Cannabis addiction is real. Approximately 1 in 6 adolescents who use ma*****na develop a substance use disorder, often accompanied by withdrawal symptoms like irritability, insomnia, and cravings. Your teen may be functioning, but they can’t stop using—and that’s a red flag.
