What you may not know is that criminal justice has always had my heart. ⚖️ Long before Mindfully Restored, I had a passion for understanding the people behind the cases—and how mental health, trauma, environment, and life circumstances intersect with the criminal justice system.

That passion is a huge part of the vision behind Mindfully Restored: looking beyond the case, supporting the whole person, and creating pathways toward healing, restoration, successful reentry, and reduced recidivism.

I’m excited to get back to this work and bring together two areas that mean so much to me—mental health and criminal justice.

And a special shoutout to Dr. Grant, who has always been like an academic mother to me—pushing me, challenging me, and encouraging me to keep growing. 💛

This feels less like starting something new and more like coming back to something that has always been a part of me.

Mindfully Restored — Beyond the case. Supporting the whole person.

It was today.

Today, I realized just how much Mindfully At Peace, PLLC has grown.

After moving into our new offices, finishing a consultation, and sitting there for a moment… I found myself just taking it all in.

As therapists, we often encourage our clients to “sit in it”—to sit with the uncomfortable feelings, the uncertainty, the growing pains, the moments when we don’t quite know what comes next.

And today, I realized I’ve had to do the same.

I’ve had to sit in the uncomfortable parts of building something. The changes. The decisions. The long days. The moments of questioning myself. The responsibilities that come with growth. The things that didn’t work out the way I expected—and the things that somehow became bigger than I imagined.

But today, sitting in our new space, something felt different.

I wasn’t sitting in discomfort.

I was sitting in what I co-created with God—because He has always been the visionary.

I looked around and realized that Mindfully At Peace is no longer just an idea I once had. It’s a growing practice. It’s therapists. It’s clients trusting us with some of the most vulnerable parts of their lives. It’s community partnerships. It’s new offices. It’s a place where people can come exactly as they are and work toward where they want to be.

Sometimes growth happens so gradually that you don’t recognize it while you’re living it.

Today, I did.

And for once, I’m going to take the same advice we give our clients.

I’m going to sit in it. 🤍

Not the discomfort this time.

The gratitude. The growth. The moment.
