We are so excited to welcome a new Speech-Language Pathologist, Mattea, to our Shelton team! ✨
Mattea received her bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences with a minor in Human Development & Family Studies from the University of Connecticut. She also earned master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Southern Connecticut State University.
During her graduate clinical experiences, Mattea gained extensive experience working with a diverse caseload through public schools, university clinics, pediatric private practices, and telehealth experiences. She has experience working with children with articulation and phonological disorders, childhood apraxia of speech, fluency disorders, voice disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, feeding disorders, and literacy deficits. Mattea also has had experiences working with children with autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, velopharyngeal dysfunction, and gestalt language processing. 😊
Excited to grow as a clinician with More to Say, Mattea is dedicated to providing individualized, holistic, and client-centered therapy that empowers children to communicate during everyday activities. She is passionate about working with infants and toddlers in the birth-to-three population, supporting children with literacy deficits, and providing feeding therapy services.
Mattea values building strong, collaborative relationships with clients and their families. She strives to create interactions that are functional, evidenced-based, and tailored to each child’s strengths and needs!
