World leaders gathered at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City in March for the 2026 UN Women’s Conference to discuss, report progress, and make commitments regarding justice and equity for women and girls. For the first time, a group of twenty Ventura County activists attended this conference as delegates of the Ventura County Women’s Forum Collaborative (VCWFC), whose mission is to improve the lives of Ventura County women and girls around the UN Women’s Strategic Priorities, such as governance and participation in public life, economic empowerment, ending violence against women and girls, peace and security, humanitarian action, and disaster risk reduction.

City of Ventura residents join immigration lawyer Vanessa Frank and Youth Right to Rise to learn about your rights and how to prepare your family in case of an unexpected immigration-related emergency. We will be helping families create a family preparedness plan to protect their loved ones. Please bring any documents or paperwork related to your immigration case, if you have them, or to bring other important documents for review.

"The event's purpose is to hear directly from Black students and families about their lived experiences in Ventura County, and to ensure these voices are shared with the Ventura County Office of Education (VCOE) Board of Education.

Over the past several months, the African American Clergy Coalition has received an increasing number of reports involving racial hate speech and violence occurring in our schools.

The goal is to support school districts in addressing racial incidents in ways that protect Black students, uphold their dignity, and ensure that appropriate and actionable consequences are applied to those causing harm. To do this effectively, we must hear directly from the community.

Your presence is essential. We are also requesting attendance of the school district administration, board members, teachers, wellness staff, and city and county leaders."
