Warning: Long, but wonderful patient report!

Every once in a while, a patient reminds us exactly why we chose this profession.
Ashley B.’s journey is one of courage, perseverance, and hope.
After a devastating s***t shooting accident caused a severe injury to her foot, Ashley was taken to the emergency department where she was told that amputation would likely be necessary. As a young woman headed for college and living an active life, that possibility was heartbreaking.
When Dr. Hilaree Milliron was called in to evaluate her, she made Ashley and her family one promise: before considering amputation, every reasonable effort would be made to save her foot.
What followed were multiple surgeries, complex reconstructive procedures, bone and soft tissue grafting, and months of determination and rehabilitation. It wasn’t an easy road, but Ashley never gave up.

The following is how Ashley tells her story:

“After experiencing a traumatic accident that resulted in a gunshot wound to my foot, I was faced with uncertainty about what the future and the healing process would look like. From the very first moment I met Dr. Milliron, I knew our paths had crossed for a reason. During such an incredibly painful and vulnerable time, all you can hope for is to be cared for by someone highly skilled, compassionate, and genuinely invested in your recovery. Dr. Milliron exceeded every expectation. Her professionalism, expertise, and deep commitment to patient care were evident in every interaction. She took the time to thoroughly explain each step of my treatment, ensuring I understood what to expect. More importantly, she consistently went above and beyond to check in on my well-being not just physically, but emotionally as well. Her dedication and empathy were not only comforting but vital to my recovery. Dr. Milliron’s passion for her work shines through in everything she does. I truly believe I would not have made it through this difficult experience without her support and care. Words will never fully capture the depth of my gratitude or the profound impact she has had on my life.I can say with absolute confidence that choosing Dr. Milliron has been one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I have no doubt that anyone under her care will feel the same.”

We recently got an exciting update from Ashley about her progress:

“For the first time since my accident I ran a whole mile straight without stopping!!! This has been something I’ve been very scared and hesitant to do but I finally did it! And I couldn’t help but just feel so much gratitude towards you and everything you did for me! A day never goes by without me thanking God for you doing what you do! Just wanted to remind you what a difference you make in your patients lives and that is a direct testament and reflection of what an amazing doctor you are! Never forget it ! 💗🙌🏼”

Stories like Ashley’s remind us that healing is about more than surgery—it’s about preserving quality of life, restoring hope, and helping patients get back to doing what they love.

Hear what our patients are saying about their MLS laser treatments!

https://www.eternalsolefootandankle.com/mls-laser-therapy

“I have been experiencing increasing ankle pain due to arthritis for at least 5 years. I had surgery on my ankle in the past, had used supports, physical therapy, and still continued to have pain. I even tried several steroid injections, and the first one lasted about 6 months. That was way back when my arthritis wasn’t as bad. More recently, injections were not working well and would only give me relief for a few days before the pain came back. Before seeing Dr Milliron, my pain in the ankle was waking me up at night and hurting every day. Nothing was helping. I came to see her and had new X-rays and she explained to me that my arthritis was now very severe. It was hurting so badly that we tried another injection, just to see if there could be relief. It did not do much at all to relieve the pain. I wanted and needed to avoid any more surgery, because I have to be able to use my right foot and leg and would not be able to go through a major surgery and the recovery process. Dr Milliron gave me information about the MLS laser, and I proceeded to do my own research. I learned by reading some studies that some people got relief and some didn’t. I asked my brother, who is a physician, his opinion on the laser treatment option. He told me that I should go ahead and try it because it couldn’t hurt to try! I decided to give it a try and I’m so glad I did! The pain has definitely improved. After only 4 treatments, I am over 50% better and my pain does not wake me up at night anymore! I am finally able to walk more normally with less pain, and even rest better. I look forward to seeing how much better I can feel with the MLS laser treatments.”
