Pacific City is where Cap’n Coconut first got her sea legs, so sponsoring the Cape Kiwanda Longboard Classic again feels extra special. 🥥🏄‍♀️

We may have traded Oregon mist for Hawai‘i sunshine, but we’ll always have so much love for the community where so many of our adventures began.

The Classic returns September 18–20 with three days of longboarding, music and good old-fashioned sandy fun. You can even watch the waves roll in from home via the livestream!

This event raised money for a much-needed skatepark in our hometown and this year the event is supporting water rescue and recovery efforts, something that is extra near to our heart and such an important part of life of coast life.

While we won’t be on the beach ourselves, we’re sending plenty of coconut love from Hawai‘i through our sponsorship, product-filled swag bags, prizes and the silent auction. Keep an eye out for a little Cap’n Coconut throughout the weekend! 🥥

Say yes to the invitation. Try the new thing. Book the ticket. Book the call. Send the email. Take the opportunity, even if it’s just a first step.

You never know what life has in store for you. Luck matters, but so does being ready when the door opens.

The happiest people I know are the ones who take the step. They take the risk. They say yes before they have every answer.

The people who are not? They seem to never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity, and end up sitting on the sidelines, booing the ones who walked through the door.

Keep learning, making, trying, and preparing. Leave enough space in your life to look up and recognize when the door appears, and enough courage to step through it.

The beauty industry talks a lot about the vitamins we put ON our skin. I don’t think we talk nearly enough about the ones we need to put IN our bodies.

Your skin is living tissue, and all of that repair, turnover, protection + glow we’re trying to support with our skincare routine also depends on having the raw materials it needs from the inside.

One of the easiest ways to cover your bases? Eat the rainbow. 🌈

Different colors of fruits + veggies bring different vitamins, antioxidants, and phytonutrients to the table, and it can be so easy.

Dane and I prep freezer bags with chopped fruit and veggies so there’s always something colorful and nourishing ready to blend. Pineapple, mango, papaya, spinach, yogurt, chia, flax, even frozen cauliflower. Easy. Delicious. Done.

Start with one more color on your plate. Try a fruit you haven’t had in a while. Make the smoothie super pretty. Have fun with it!

Cap’n Coconut started with beauty on the outside. Cap’n Consulting grew from wanting to help with what’s underneath. 🤍

Since 2020, I’ve worked with business owners and teams to bring more structure, creativity, clarity, and intention into the way they work. And getting to watch that shift happen is one of my favorite parts.

Every day can be a beach day, but when I’m planning an extra-special one, like a vacation, party, boat day, or a long afternoon in the sand, I usually get ready a couple of days early.

I take care of hair removal and sunless tanning ahead of time, then spend the night before drinking plenty of water and layering on my serum and Body Balm. I want my skin feeling soft, hydrated, and ready for a full day outside.

My beach bag is never “light”. 😂 I pack sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, extra bikini bottoms, a quick-dry towel, lip balm, body mist, a giant bottle of water, fresh fruit, and my favorite cheese and crackers.

I always bring some kind of shade too & reminder don’t set up under a coconut tree 🥥

Once I’m home, I rinse everything off, moisturize again, drink even more water, and eat something cool and colorful.

A little extra prep means you can stay longer, feel better, and enjoy every part of the day, from the first swim to the final rinse.
