We celebrated Father's Day at Canterbury Woods a couple of days early with a root beer float and pretzel bar, while residents watched a World Cup soccer game on television. Then on Sunday, we had a special menu for brunch. We recognized 10 fathers for working on their special day with a little gift. One father/son duo spent the day together washing dishes.

Front Porch Communities Foundation held their Philanthropy Days at Canterbury Woods. It included a Newcomers' Brunch, a Welcome Reception, a residents and staff trivia challenge, and a lovely lunch. The highlight was a humorous musical r***e performed by our residents and Associate Philanthropy Officer. It was three joy-filled days of meaningful celebration in support of the Circle of Friends Fund - a vital program that helps fellow residents who may outlive their financial resources.

Hidden Hills Ranch is a nonprofit dedicated to enriching lives through hands-on learning with rescued farm animals. More than a refuge for animals, Hidden Hills Ranch is a safe haven where learning, growth, and connection thrive. We recently invited them to bring some of their animals to visit with our residents. Our staff enjoyed their visit too! 🐇

We had another hilarious performance of Readers Theatre, "Saved by the Serendipity Circus". It was also bittersweet, because two of the group's performers had passed away within the past two months. This performance was lovingly dedicated in their memory.
