MIRIAM’S HOUSE AND POLO IN THE PALISADES ON FOX 11 NEWS LAST NIGHT…

Thank you to the legendary broadcaster Christine Devine and FOX 11 for shining a light on the incredible work being done at Miriam's House.

Patricia Meyers, Board President of Miriam’s House and owner/partner at START UP RECOVERY & START UP WELLNESS… along with Myriah Dozier, a Miriam’s House alum, took the stage to share what POLO IN THE PALISADES is all about.

After the Palisades fires of 2025 forced us to cancel last year’s event Polo In The Palisades is BACK…

📆Saturday, September 19th
⏰From 1PM–4PM
✅Will Rogers State Park, Pacific Palisades

This event supports the women and children of Miriam’s House and the life-changing work happening there every day. The women and children need your support more today than ever after the fires took last year’s event.

GOOD STUFF... THE GROUNDS IN SAN DIEGO!!! 💪💯🌊

Had the chance to spend time today at The Grounds Recovery just down the street from Wind and Sea Beach with our buddy #

What really stood out... is this program goes beyond getting young adult men sober — it’s about helping them build a life worth staying sober for.

Helping / supporting / guiding their clients to...

✅ Get back to school to finish what addiction took away.

✅ Find work or career that is worthy of their new recovery.

✅ Discover purpose, passion, and independence in their daily lives.

That’s the real win.

Honestly, wish a program like this existed when I was a young man trying to figure sobriety out in my 20's. Proud of what Alex, Cannon, and Scott are doing in my hometown of San Diego. 🙏

THIRTY YEARS CLEAN & SOBER... ###!

Today we celebrate something truly extraordinary — 30 years clean and sober for Patricia Meyers. 🎂

For three decades, Patricia has lived the principles of AA and NA, embodying what it means to walk this path one day at a time. As a Partner and Founder of START UP RECOVERY & WELLNESS, and with over 25 years in the behavioral health field, she is more than a leader — Patricia is a living example of what recovery looks like in action. 💯✅

Patricia is a program of attraction!🔥

Through her strength, grace, and unwavering commitment, she has helped guide thousands of lives through the disease of addiction and alcoholism — offering hope, direction, and a way out for so many who needed it most.💪💥

Patricia is a strong leader, a kind and confident presence, and a deeply trusted friend. Her mission-driven work continues to impact not only our START UP community, but also the women and children she serves so powerfully at Miriam’s House.😇❤️

Patricia, your recovery is the example of how the ripple effect is in full effect. Thank you for showing us how it’s done — with integrity, compassion, and purpose. 📝🌊

Congratulations on 30 years Patricia Meyers. One Day at a Time.

START UP RECOVERY — Sober Mentor Monday is on a roll...

Last night we had the privilege of hosting Luke Cuccia, Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Eagle Creek Recovery Ranch in Idaho.

Luke brought the room to life with a powerful pitch on his experience, strength, and hope and path as an entrepreneur—showing what’s possible when one shifts their addiction to passion. Building a well respected program for men in the same framework that got him sober!!!

Luke’s deep understanding of the Big Book and the Steps resonated with everyone in the room, and an incredibly insightful and heartfelt Q&A session followed. We saw first hand the START UP RECOVERY clients and alumni connecting, asking questions, and walking away with real recovery tools they can apply in their own lives.

A big THANK YOU Luke!!!

"SOUND BATH SUSY" MAKES HER RETURN AS SOBER MENTOR

There are moments that feel like a full circle… and last night was one of them.

At START UP RECOVERY, we had the absolute privilege of hosting our Sober Mentor meeting at our new Main House in the Pacific Palisades with the incredible Schieffelin — also known to many as "The Copper Vessel."

What makes this one special for us… is history.

Years ago, when both of our journeys were just getting started, we were one of the first to bring Susy in to share her sound baths during our early days of START UP RECOVERY was in its first and second year. She was just beginning to build her brand / business and we wanted to give our clients something more – and the more was the healing powers of sound / frequency!

Fast forward to today — Susy is a powerful force in the wellness space: a sound healer, Reiki master, yoga teacher, sponsored by Alo Yoga no less!!!

But, most importantly, Susy is a sober daughter, mama, and wife deeply grounded in her recovery and service to others.

To have her walk into our new home, stand in front of our community, and share her experience, strength, and hope… and her entrepreneurial journey was something magical!
