We’ve enjoyed having Lacey Drury with us at EVS over the past few weeks! 🐴

Lacey is a 3rd-year vet student at the University of Missouri College of Veterinary Medicine. She plans to pursue a career in mixed animal medicine with a strong interest and dedication to equine medicine.

We’re grateful to have had the opportunity to be part of her veterinary education and wish her all the best as she continues her journey toward becoming a veterinarian! 👩‍⚕️🐎

Let’s talk about “bad behavior.” 👇

A horse that bites during saddling:
❓ Is it stubborn?
❓ Is it a training issue?
❓ Or is it trying to tell us something?

This sweet horse’s behavior change led us to look deeper. Exam findings showed sensitivity through the neck and epaxial muscles with reduced mobility, while the spine itself was normal.

As part of his treatment plan, Dr. Josie Carr performed bilateral corticosteroid injections into the epaxial muscles to help address areas of discomfort.
Behavior is communication.

Don’t punish pain. Find it. Treat it. 🐴
What’s the first sign you notice when your horse isn’t feeling their best?

This horse got a front row seat to some high tech diagnostics! An eye ultrasound helps us evaluate structures inside the eye and gather information that can't always be seen during a routine exam.

Is your horse feeling a little stiff or sore? It might be time for a chiropractic adjustment.
🐎🐎
Chiropractic care is a gentle, non-invasive treatment that helps keep your horse moving and feeling its best. By using precise adjustments to the spine and joints, our veterinarians can help relieve soreness, improve mobility, and address discomfort caused by injury, repetitive work, or everyday wear and tear. It can benefit horses dealing with neck, back, pelvic, leg, and even jaw or facial issues.
