Exciting things are happening at the hospital!

Out with the old and making way for something new! Construction is officially underway as we begin transforming this space into our new Physical Therapy area. Our outpatient PT clinic and gym will soon be moving into the hospital, bringing new opportunities to better serve our patients and community.

There may be some dust, noise and torn-up floors for now, but we’re building something exciting for the future! We can’t wait to share the progress with you as this space takes shape and we get one step closer to welcoming our patients into their new home.

Think Pink. Think Prevention. Think Big.

This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, our team is wearing pink to stand with everyone whose lives have been touched by breast cancer and to remind our community of the importance of prioritizing breast health.

Early detection can make a meaningful difference, which is why staying informed and keeping up with recommended screenings is so important.

And while we’re thinking pink, we may also have something BIG on the horizon. We can’t say too much just yet, but let’s just say we’re excited about what’s coming next for breast health and early detection in our community. Stay tuned!

For the past several years, Dr. Hashmi has been providing exceptional colorectal and general surgery care to patients throughout our community. A Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and Diplomat of the American Board of Surgery (DABS), Dr. Hashmi brings extensive expertise and a strong commitment to delivering high-quality surgical care close to home.

In his new leadership role, Dr. Hashmi will continue caring for patients while helping guide and strengthen surgical services at Desert View Hospital.

Led by our CEO, Susan Davila, Team DVH enjoyed a great day alongside fellow rural healthcare leaders, partners and supporters from across Nevada.

Thank you, Silver Summit Health Plan!

Thanks to generous grant funding from SilverSummit Healthplan, Desert View Hospital is able to provide advanced hands-on training for our clinical teams using "Summit Sam" and "Zoey the Zoll."

From nursing orientation and mock code drills to annual skills fairs, this technology helps our staff practice life-saving techniques in realistic scenarios, including CPR, airway management, IV access, medication administration and defibrillation. Together, Sam and Zoey allow caregivers to build confidence, sharpen skills and improve emergency response readiness.
