Overflowing with gratitude! Did I take a photo? of course not. So here is one of my favs with Anil in the Himalayan Mountains. It was so inspiring to have him at Silver Lotus Yoga.

Over the years, I've learned to tap into the wisdom of his words, and the gentle power of his presence. To listen to what he is saying and to how he is saying it. Concentrating so much wisdom into now little drop for us to swallow, to start.

Anil's guidance, rooted in the timeless wisdom of Swami Veda, sit for just 1 minute 3 times a day. Begin the habit of meeting yourself. It's not fancy, no overly complicated technique...it's repetition. Sit with a straight spine, close your eyes and watch your breath. The power of repetition will ignite a spark within you, and the journey of self-discovery will unfold. ✨

Can you take a minute to connect with your inner self, to breathe in the present, and to unlock a brighter tomorrow?

Thank you Anilji

Extended Retreat Option | Begins Wednesday 9/16
Embark on a Pilgrimage into Silence. This extended portion offers a guided curriculum designed to gently lead you into the depths of silence. Participants will receive a thoughtfully created workbook to support continued personal practice—or to guide others in the future.

• Meditation and silence
• Philosophical discussion
• Nourishing meals
• Meaningful connection in community

Leave feeling nourished in mind, body, and soul—grounded, inspired, and expanded.

Retreat to Silence
Wednesday evening lectures + Thursday Silence Day (6a-5p)
SILENCE 101: Exploring Inner Awareness
A Step-by-Step Guide to a One-Day Silence Practice
Silence 101 is designed for individuals interested in cultivating personal silence. It also serves as a resource for yoga instructors to introduce students to the practice of silence. It provides newcomers with an opportunity to engage in a simple, single day of silence practice, allowing them to explore this approach before considering a longer retreat. Whether practiced individually or in a group setting, Silence 101 offers a structured framework for exploring inner stillness, fostering Self-awareness and connecting with the divine light within.
“Learn to dive into the depths of our true nature. We call that meditation. We call that practicing stillness. We call that the practice of silence.” ~ Swami Veda Bharati, Silence the Illuminated Mind, p37-38
Embracing Silence with the Himalayan Yoga Tradition

As yoga practitioners and guides in the Himalayan Yoga Tradition, aligned with the teachings of Swami Veda Bharati, we offer this one-day silence practicum. The intention behind this practice is to engage both new students and seasoned practitioners, providing a simple framework for personal exploration and the opportunity to access the inner wisdom inherent within each of us.

Cynthia and Gary Gran's "Practical Ayurveda" class series starts this week! The first session is "The Elements! Taking a Fresh Look at Ayurveda" on Wednesday, June 17.
***
Cynthia Gran (YACEP, E-RYT 500) and Gary Gran (CYT, DAy) are offering "Wellness Wednesdays," a summer series on the practical application of Ayurveda, the holistic science of health and wellbeing, and the great science of life, developed across the centuries in India.

On 6/17, 7/15, 8/19, and 10/21, from 7:00–8:30 pm CT, they will present and lead discussions on the panchamahabhutas, the five great elements. These are described by the sages of India as that which compose our very being, along with consciousness and life force. We’ll see how the elements form our bodies, relate to our mind and senses, and align with the chakras, the energy centers of each human being. Classes will be held over Zoom.

Swami Ritivan:

"On your pilgrimage along the spiritual path, you begin to recognize the depths of light you are pursuing. Such a person searches for the inner light when a calling arises, ‘know thy self’ in relation to the outer world, with its laws and with its causes and effects.

And, one passes through many stages of transformation, thus eliminating the lower for the higher, the gross for the more subtle, merging the smaller into the greater, and uniting the small part of that personality into a wholeness, crossing the boundaries and loosening the ties of bo***ge until the outer world and inner world are realized as one. These infinite divine forces, these universal forces, are the forces within our personality. They are our experiences that express an inner craving, express that quest to know and to love and be loved. This is the quest of light, to be in light, with light, and experience the human fullness of that enlightenment as peace, happiness, and bliss.

This inherent impulse, is felt in every human being, every living being, every sentient being. It is the impulse that becomes the breath. And in that impulse the thought of SoHam arises with each breath. Thus every human being can realize their true nature. The darkness of ignorance and confusion that surrounds, that veils, that diminishes the light of knowledge, remains the bo***ge to which we seek freedom.

Thus your true nature is light. "
