Aunt Martha's to expand our broad range of family planning and preventative health care services from five locations to 14 after receiving more than $1.3 million from the federal Title X family planning program. It's Mental Illness Awareness Week! Mental illness is a real medical illness, just like heart disease or cancer. Some people tell others "to just snap out of it." You can't "snap out of it." You wouldn't say to a person with diabetes or hypertension to just snap out of it. So what does a friend or loved one do? There are no special words to help a person struggling with a mental illness. However, it does help your friend or loved one to acknowledge that mental illness is a real illness.
