I'm proud to be a member of the Rotary Club of Palatka 💙💛
I've met so many incredible people who truly care about serving our community, and I'm grateful to be part of an organization that lives by the motto, "Service Above Self." Looking forward to what's ahead!
If you haven't had the chance to meet one of our newest Rotarians, we'd like to introduce you to Dr. Emily Todd.
When Emily moved her chiropractic practice to Palatka, she knew she wanted to do more than care for patients. She wanted to become part of the community. That's what led her to the Rotary Club of Palatka, where she's already enjoying the opportunity to meet new people and serve alongside others who share her commitment to making a difference.
As a chiropractor with specialized training in Orthospinology upper cervical care, Emily says every patient presents a unique puzzle. She enjoys bringing together a patient's health history, examination, imaging and nervous system findings to understand the bigger picture and provide individualized care. Watching patients regain their quality of life is what she loves most about her profession.
Emily believes success is measured by leaving things better than she found them, whether that's helping a patient, volunteering in the community or simply encouraging someone who needs it. She also believes growth comes from stepping outside your comfort zone, a lesson that's been reinforced by building a practice in a new community and becoming involved in Rotary.
When she's not in the office, Emily is usually outdoors. Hiking, backpacking and gardening are among her favorite hobbies, and she's working toward a goal of visiting every U.S. National Park. Her hiking boots are one thing she couldn't live without.
Don't let the hiking boots fool you, though. Emily also competed in powerlifting and placed fourth in her division at the 2013 USAPL Raw Nationals.
She enjoys rereading Women Who Run with the Wolves, considers The Office her all-time favorite series and says she'd happily eat wings every day if given the chance. Her first concert was NSYNC, which still makes her smile.
We're excited to have Emily as part of our Rotary family and look forward to the many ways she'll make a difference in our club and our community.
