Aviata Health Group is incredibly proud to share a sneak peek of People Worth Caring About, an upcoming national docuseries created in partnership with Florida Health Care Association.

We are especially proud that Aviata at Emerald Shores was selected as one of only eight skilled nursing centers across Florida invited to participate in this meaningful project.

Filming took place this past April, capturing the people, relationships, and moments that make long-term care so special. The series is expected to begin airing in late fall/early winter, and we cannot wait for audiences to see the heart behind the care provided every day at Emerald Shores.

This opportunity is a wonderful reflection of the compassion and dedication of our team members and the incredible residents who make our community what it is.

Congratulations, Team Emerald Shores! We are so proud to see your story—and the story of long-term care in Florida—shared on a national stage.

Take a moment to watch the sneak peek, and stay tuned for more! 🎬💛

People Worth Caring About Florida will shine a light on the lives, dedication and humanity of the state's long term caregivers who provide essential, compassionate care to seniors and people with disabilities. Aviata Health Group was honored to welcome U.S. Congressman Mike Haridopolos, who represents Florida’s 8th Congressional District, to Aviata at Palm Bay for a center visit and firsthand look at the care being delivered in our center.

Malory Benfield, LNHA, Executive Director of Aviata at Palm Bay, led Congressman Haridopolos on a tour of the center and shared valuable insight into the day-to-day realities of long-term care, including both the opportunities ahead and the challenges facing providers, caregivers, residents, and families.

Also joining the visit were Joshua Wagoner, Divisional Executive Director, and Nathan Freund, CEO of Aviata Health Group, contributing to an important dialogue about our industry and the continued need to support high-quality, accessible care for Florida’s seniors.

We appreciate Congressman Haridopolos for taking the time to visit, listen, and engage directly with our team. Opportunities like these help ensure the voices and experiences of those working in long-term care are part of the broader conversation.

Thank you to our Aviata at Palm Bay team for representing Aviata Health Group and the work happening across our centers each day.

Today, Dr. Paul Martin shared that he was disappointed with his chicken and mashed potatoes meal this weekend. Instead of simply apologizing, our team chose to truly listen to his concern and look for a meaningful way to make things right.

Knowing that Dr. Martin holds a Doctor of Divinity degree and has a special appreciation for Chick-fil-A and its Christian values, we surprised him with a Chick-fil-A meal: chicken tenders, mac n chz, french fries, and lemonade. He was so appreciative!

While visiting with him, Dr. Martin shared something he learned in college that has stayed with him throughout his life: when someone is upset, the most important thing you can do is listen more than you talk, and focus on resolving the concern with genuine hospitality. His words perfectly captured the type of culture we strive to create every day.
