Bob Garry

Bob Garry, of Palm Bay, Florida, passed away in 2026. He was born in 1955 and lived a life defined by loyalty, service, humor, and an unmistakable love for the people around him.

Bob served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, carrying with him the strength, grit, and stubbornness that would become part of who he was. Later in life, he became a familiar and beloved presence at American Legion Post 117, where he served as Sergeant at Arms. It was a role that suited him well, because Bob had a natural way of keeping things in line, whether people asked for it or not.

Above all else, Bob loved his family and friends. He would do anything he could for the people he cared about, often without needing to be asked. If someone needed help, Bob showed up. He may not have always been quiet about it, but he showed up.

Bob had his passions, and he enjoyed them fully. He loved playing video games, his Dodge Challenger, time spent at the Legion, and, most famously, Mountain Dew. In fact, it is entirely possible that no one ever saw Bob voluntarily drink water. His dedication to Mountain Dew was unmatched, medically questionable, and absolutely part of his legend.

He will be remembered for his humor, his loyalty, his service, his strong opinions, his love for his family, and the unmistakable way he made every room a little more interesting. Bob was one of a kind, and those who knew him were better for it.

He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, fellow veterans, and everyone fortunate enough to have shared a laugh, a story, or a cold Mountain Dew with him.

Mark Christopher Douglass

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mark Christopher Douglass of Palm Bay, Florida, on May 23, 2026, at the age of 56.

Mark was a devoted husband, father and friend whose love for his family was evident in everything he did. He was preceded in death by his parents, George C. Douglass and Jeannette Pennington Douglass. Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah Hughes Douglass; his daughters, Allison Douglass and Savannah Burdge; his sons, Tyler Douglass, Dalton Burdge and Garrett Burdge; and his sister, Kim (Jeff) Brewer. His family was the center of his world, and he took great pride in the lives and accomplishments of each of them.

For more than 20 years, Mark owned and operated Space Coast Pools, where he built and serviced pools throughout the community. Through his hard work, dedication, and commitment to quality, he earned the respect of both his customers and colleagues. Mark believed in doing things the right way and built not only a successful business but also lasting relationships with those he served.

Outside of work, Mark enjoyed spending time camping, attending NASCAR races, relaxing on boat days, going on cruises and cheering on his favorite football team, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Whether gathered around a campsite, out on the water, watching a game with family and friends, or spending time at home with his wife, he found joy in life’s simple moments and the people he shared them with.

Mark was a man of few words, but his love spoke volumes. He was known for his quick wit, sarcastic sense of humor, unwavering support, and steady presence. He cherished the company of those closest to him and enjoyed meaningful conversations with family and friends. His ability to make people laugh, offer encouragement, and simply be there when needed will be remembered by all who knew him.

Anyone who knew Mark also knew he had a signature style. You could almost always find him wearing two tank tops, camouflage, or both. In fact, many would joke that if there was a formal version of camouflage and a tank top, Mark would have happily worn them to every occasion. It became part of who he was—a simple, comfortable, and unmistakably “Mark” way of showing up in the world that always brought a smile to those around him.

Though his passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who loved him, his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the legacy of love, laughter, and hard work that he leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Mark’s life on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Ammen Family Cremation and Funeral Care, located at 950 Malabar Road SE, Palm Bay, Florida 32907. A viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Mark will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. His memory will remain in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

Helen Frances Carr Savage

Helen Frances Carr Savage, lovingly known as Mom, Mimi, and to some longtime friends as 'Muggsy,' passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, at the age of 86.

Born on August 16, 1939, in Westerly, Rhode Island, Helen was the daughter of Clifford N. Carr and Myra L. Chace Carr. She lived a life centered on family, love, laughter, and caring for others.

Helen was widowed by her beloved husband, William F. Savage, who passed away on January 12, 2026. Together, they shared a lifetime of love, devotion, and family memories, building a family rooted in love, laughter, and unwavering support for one another.

Together they raised three daughters: Myra (Craig) Savage Catanzaro, Paula Savage Frazier, and Debra Savage Peabody. Helen also held a special place in her heart for her niece, Donna (Paul) Clark, who was loved as a daughter.

Helen retired as a Supply Technician from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center after many years of dedicated service. While she took pride in her work, her greatest joy was always her family.

After retiring to Florida, Helen and Bill looked forward to welcoming their grandchildren for school vacations, often flying them down from Rhode Island to spend time together. The weeks spent at the island house became treasured family memories filled with fishing, boating, swimming, card games, laughter, and endless adventures. For their grandchildren, it was a magical place where some of their happiest childhood memories were made.

Whether gathered around the kitchen table, playing Rummy or Yahtzee, sharing family meals, celebrating birthdays, watching Hallmark movies, or simply spending time together, Helen had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcomed, cherished, and loved. She never met a stranger and had a way of making every person who entered her home feel like family. No one ever left her home without a baked good, a full stomach, and a reminder of how much they were loved.

Helen leaves behind a loving family, including six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, extended family members, and countless friends whose lives were enriched by her kindness, humor, generosity, and unwavering support.

Helen's greatest accomplishment was not measured in achievements, but in the family she loved and nurtured. Her kindness, generosity, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to those she loved will be remembered always.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the many nurses, therapists, caregivers, and hospice staff who provided Helen with compassionate care, comfort, dignity, and kindness throughout her final journey. Your support meant more to our family than words can express.

The family will celebrate the lives of Helen and Bill together in Newport this July. Additional details will be shared once arrangements are finalized

Heidi Anne Kubiak Jones

Tragic, heartbreaking things happen all the time in this world. Sadly, one of them happened on May 17, 2026. Heidi Anne Kubiak Jones of Palm Bay, Florida – a wife, mother, grandmother, and sister – passed away after struggling with a long illness. She slipped peacefully from this life at age 73.

Born on Jan. 27, 1953, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, Heidi kept perpetually busy with renovation projects, seascape paintings, and care for her beloved family. People remember Heidi for her high energy and ability to tackle ambitious projects – some referring to her as a “dynamo” who could work through the trickiest renovation challenges. She was unstoppable, possessing the mind of an engineer and the patience of a diamond cutter.

Heidi graduated from Northview High School in 1971. She spent about a year at Grand Rapids Community College (then Grand Rapids Junior College) and a nurses’ training program affiliated with a local hospital.

Among her greatest loves was her family. She married Steven Jones in 1976, and they had three daughters, a grandson, and a granddaughter. Despite staying super-busy with projects, Heidi was always available to care for the kids and grandkids. It was her delight to spend time with them. She had a big heart and extended herself often to people who needed her help – family, friends, neighbors, and even people she barely knew. That’s the way she was.

In her 50s, Heidi took up painting seascapes, producing an array of lovely pieces that hang in family members’ homes. Despite starting this hobby later in life, she exhibited a surprising level of skill and nuance in her art.

Heidi worked as a surgical technician for many years in Michigan, Texas, and Georgia. She loved her work in the medical field. Assisting surgeons with such procedures as open heart, orthopedic, and neurosurgery was deeply rewarding to her. She spoke of it often.

She was also a lover of animals – all animals – and they loved her in return. It seems there was always a dog or a cat in her lap.

Heidi leaves behind her husband, Steve; their daughters, Stephanie English (Randy), Natalie Jones (Thomas Shindel), and Julie; a grandson, Cameron English, and a granddaughter, Heather English; a sister, Robin Siegel (Tom); along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death is her mother, Barbara M. Kubiak; her father, William J. Kubiak; and her brothers Joseph Kubiak and Anthony Kubiak.

Everyone who knew Heidi will miss her terribly. She was a dear person whose departure has left an unfillable gap in the lives of all who loved her.

If you would like to honor her, please perform an act of kindness toward someone today. She would like that.
