Lar Par over lunch? We’re in. 🍷🐾

We recently brought together members of our local veterinary community at Cooper’s Hawk for an afternoon of good food, great conversation, and CE with one of our surgeons, Dr. Valeria Colberg! 🩺

The topic: Laryngeal Paralysis- recognizing the patient, navigating the workup, knowing when surgery enters the conversation, and what happens after referral.

One of our favorite parts of these events is getting outside the hospital and creating a space where our referring community can learn, ask questions, talk through real cases, and connect with the specialists they’re referring to.

We’re excited to introduce the newest addition to our specialty team, Dr. Leah Ackerman! 💙

Born and raised right here in Palm Beach Gardens, Dr. Ackerman is thrilled to return home and launch our new Medical Oncology service at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of Palm Beach Gardens.

A proud triple Gator 🐊🐊🐊, Dr. Ackerman earned her bachelor’s degree, DVM, and completed her Medical Oncology residency training at the University of Florida, following a rotating internship at the University of Pennsylvania. 👩🏻‍⚕️

Dr. Ackerman is passionate about building meaningful relationships with families and providing thoughtful, individualized cancer care for every patient. We can’t wait for our patients, pet parents, and referring veterinary community to meet her!

Dr. Ackerman will be joining VSH in just a few short weeks — and we’re already scheduling opportunities for our referring veterinary teams to connect with her.

In the ER, we’re used to the unexpected, but this case reminded us just how small and fragile our patients can be.

These tiny chicks belong to one of our own technicians, and were unfortunately lost in transit before making their way to us. By the time they arrived, they needed immediate, specialized care. While not all of them made it, we’re so proud to share that some of these little fighters are still here because of quick action, dedication, and a whole lot of heart!

Under the care of Dr. Lilliana Munoz and our ER team, these babies were warmed, stabilized, and given every chance to thrive. Our team treated them just like we would any patient, because to us, every life matters, no matter how small! 🐥🐣

Yesterday was all about teamwork, quick thinking, and lifesaving skills! 🩺✨

We had such a great time at Cowtown Animal Hospital hosting a CPR training session with their incredible team. From hands-on practice to great questions and discussion, it was clear how dedicated their doctors and staff are to providing the very best care for their patients!

Moments like these are what it’s all about! Coming together, sharing knowledge, and strengthening the skills that make a difference when seconds truly matter.

Inside the hospital… things got competitive 👀🥚 We hosted a couple of Easter egg hunts for our staff, and let’s just say… some people *really* understood the assignment 😂

Nothing like a little friendly competition (and hidden candy) to keep spirits high! So grateful for our hardworking team and the fun moments we get to share 💕
