I’ve been thinking of a way to express this for months. My sponsor can tell, my friends can tell, my family and coworkers can tell that I walk with a cool confidence that feels relaxed, effortless and genuine. What a freaking relief because I feel like my whole life someone was talking about me, judging me for what I wore, how I looked, how I patented, how I did therapy, blah blah blah the list goes on..
That book really took it all out of me. All of my shame, God took it and used it all for the reader. Blood, sweat and tears were involved.

The woman who finally heals stops waiting for the person who broke her to become the person who heals her.

She no longer chases closure from someone who created the wound.

She no longer mistakes loneliness for an emergency.

She chooses self-respect over chemistry.
Peace over potential.
Truth over fantasy.

She stops confusing emotional intensity with intimacy.

Because healing isn’t finding someone who loves you differently.

It’s finally loving yourself enough to stop calling pain “love.”

If this is where you are, keep going. You’re not becoming less emotional.
You’re becoming emotionally safe.

✹ Save this for the days you need the reminder.

Sometimes the hardest relationship to let go of isn’t the one you actually had.

It’s the one you believed you were going to have.

The future you imagined.
The version of them you kept hoping would finally show up.
The life you built in your mind every time they gave you just enough to keep believing.

So you fought.

Not because the relationship was healthy.
Not because your needs were being met.
But because letting go meant grieving a future that never actually existed.

That grief can feel unbearable.

And if you’ve spent your life believing that abandonment means something is wrong with you, your nervous system will often choose familiar pain over unfamiliar loss.

Healing isn’t learning how to hold on tighter.

It’s learning that grieving an illusion is still grief.
And allowing yourself to feel it is often the very thing that finally sets you free.

What you’re mourning may not be the relationship.

It may be the hope.
