If exercise has hurt you, exhausted you or triggered symptoms enough times, it makes sense that you may stop trusting it.
That’s different from being lazy.
And it’s different from saying your illness is “all in your head.”
Our brains learn from experience.
So if your experience has repeatedly been:
exercise → symptoms → crash → recovery
part of rebuilding fitness may involve creating a very different pattern:
tolerable movement → adequate recovery → repeat.
Sometimes progress starts with doing LESS than your old fitness mindset wants you to do.

I wanted to build muscle with low energy—I just couldn't keep doing strength workouts that took everything out of me.
The biggest shift was realizing that fatiguing a muscle and exhausting your whole body are not the same thing.
I could use moderate weights, slow the reps down and make the muscle work harder without automatically reaching for extremely heavy weights, drop sets or demanding compound exercises.
That became a big part of how I developed my No Burnout Build workouts.
This isn't about making strength training easy.
It's about spending your energy where it actually creates the result you want.

Exercise for fibromyalgia can get frustrating when your body doesn't cooperate with the workout plan you made.
I used to think changing my workout meant I wasn't being consistent.
But I learned that being flexible with my workouts was exactly what I needed to stop constantly starting over.
Some days I do my regular strength workout. Other days I choose the low-energy version, stretch, or rest.
I still have a plan. I just don't expect my body to follow it perfectly.
That's what helped me finally stay consistent with fitness.
And it's exactly why I built flexibility into MITFIT 90. đź’›
