When you purchase any organic/ non-GMO foods - even fruits and veggies - make sure the products bar code starts with a 9 - this indicates organic and no pesticides or chemicals.

If the organic product starts with a 4 on the bar code - this means it is conventionally grown and contains pesticides and chemicals.

Conventionally grown produce has a four-digit PLU; organic has five digits starting with 9.
