This was truly a special and meaningful day at Highland Lakes Assisted Living as we had the honor of hosting a Veterans Pinning Ceremony with AccentCare Hospice and their wonderful team members, Ruby Carneiro and Clifton Pease. ❤️

Clifton shared a heartfelt and touching story about his experience serving in the U.S. Air Force during 9/11 and presented our veterans with certificates and American flag pins in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

Our veterans also had the opportunity to share stories and memories from their time in the service. We proudly sang the Armed Forces Medley, celebrating each branch and the brave men and women who have served our country.

We ended this beautiful celebration by enjoying cake and refreshments together while sharing fellowship and memories.
A heartfelt thank you to our veterans for your courage, dedication, and service to our country, and a special thank you to AccentCare Hospice, Ruby, and Clifton for making this ceremony so meaningful. We are honored to celebrate you! 🇺🇸🎖️

Every week brings new opportunities to laugh, connect, and make memories, and this one was no exception. Residents stayed active with chair dancing, Latin Zumba, Fit Group USA, TheraBand exercises, chair volleyball, and scenic views at the Dunedin Causeway, while also enjoying Blackjack, Dominoes, word games, Shut the Box, live music with Johnny P. and Paul Fontana, birthday celebrations, and a joyful sing-along. We also gave a warm Highland Lakes welcome to our newest resident, Natalie, before wrapping up the week with Pineapple Bourbon Lemonades at Happy Hour. We can't wait to see what next week has in store, but if this one was any indication, it's sure to be another great one! 💙

Another wonderful week at Highland Lakes was filled with patriotic fun, meaningful moments, and plenty of laughter along the way.

Residents celebrated Independence Day by decorating their walkers and wheelchairs, enjoyed worship with Pastor Bill, poker, Card Bingo, a sweet trip to Strachan's Ice Cream, Bible Study, chair volleyball, and a movie afternoon that turned an unexpected change of plans into a memorable one.

We also loved creating beautiful floral arrangements thanks to the generous donation from Random Acts of Flowers before wrapping up the week with our tropical Pineapple Paradise at Happy Hour.

Weeks like these remind us that it's the friendships, shared experiences, and simple moments that make Highland Lakes feel so much like home. 🌺
