Have you ever wondered what causes the cracking sound during a chiropractic adjustment?

One of the most common questions I hear from patients is, “What exactly is that popping sound?”

In this first installment of the Element Spine & Wellness Patient Education Series, I explain:
• What actually causes the sound
• What tribonucleation is
• Whether more cracking means a better adjustment
• Whether an adjustment has to make a sound to be effective
• Common misconceptions about chiropractic care

My goal is to provide clear, evidence-informed education that helps patients better understand their care.

I’d love to hear what topics you’d like to see covered in future videos!

Element Spine & Wellness was built around a simple idea: patients should have enough time to be heard, understand what’s going on, and leave with a clear plan.

My goal is for each patient to understand what the problem appears to be, what a realistic treatment timeline may look like, and what role they play in their own recovery.

Visits are scheduled by appointment only so that each patient has dedicated time for evaluation, treatment, and questions.

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself.

I’m Dr. Aaron Sakevich, owner of Element Spine & Wellness in Palm Harbor. I’m a chiropractic physician, DIANM, and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with a background in athletics, rehabilitation, strength training, and patient-centered chiropractic care.

I grew up in Jefferson Township, New Jersey, and attended Towson University, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in Sports Studies and played linebacker for the university football team. I later moved to the Tampa Bay area to be closer to family and began my career in health and wellness as a certified personal trainer, working with clients of all ages on weight loss, strength and conditioning, bodybuilding preparation, and sport-specific training.

After graduating from Keiser University, I went on to serve in clinic director roles at both The Joint Chiropractic and Medicus Spine & Joint, where I gained experience in wellness care, injury rehabilitation, and helping patients recover from neck pain, back pain, headaches, sports injuries, and auto accident-related injuries.

At Element Spine & Wellness, my goal is to provide focused, honest, individualized care — whether someone needs help getting out of pain, moving better, staying active, or simply feeling more confident in their body.

I’m grateful to be building this practice here in the Palm Harbor community and look forward to helping more people move, feel, and function better.
