❄️ A quick weather reminder! ❄️

As our weather starts changing, please watch your step and be mindful of slippery spots when coming and going from the office. We’ve added non-slip traction strips and additional lighting to help, but Alaska weather can change quickly and surfaces may become slick.

Please use the handrail when entering, take your time, and use extra caution.

Stay safe!

Greetings all!

We’ve seen a few comments recently that we “don’t answer our phones,” so we wanted to take a moment to share how communication works at Healing Forward Therapy.

We are a small business made up of therapists who maintain full client schedules. Most of the workday, we are sitting across from someone in a therapy session—and when we are with a client, that client has our full attention.

That means we often cannot answer the phone when it rings. Pausing a therapy session to answer a phone call would not only be disruptive, it would be unfair and unprofessional to the person whose scheduled time we are protecting.

We work hard to respond to every voicemail, text, email, and new-client inquiry we receive. But there is one important piece: if you call and do not leave a voicemail, we will not call you back.

We do not have the capacity to track down missed calls or return calls when we don’t know who called or what they need. A missed call without a message simply tells us that a phone rang while we were unavailable.

If you need us, please leave a voicemail, send us a text, or send an email. Give us enough information to know how we can help, and we will get back to you as soon as we are able.

Being difficult to reach in the moment is not the same as being unresponsive. Sometimes it simply means we are doing exactly what we are here to do—being fully present with the client in front of us.

Thank you to everyone who understands, leaves us a message, and gives our small team the opportunity to respond. We truly appreciate your patience and your support of our practice.

🌿 We’re Excited to Offer a New Quiet & Calming Space! 🌿

We’re so happy to now be able to offer two different waiting spaces to help make time at our office more comfortable for everyone!

Our main waiting area will continue to be a place where kids and families can play, move, talk, and enjoy activities while they wait. 🎨🧸

In the second section of our waiting room, we’ve created an optional quiet and calming space for anyone who would prefer a little less activity. Whether someone needs a quieter environment, a moment to decompress, or simply prefers a peaceful place to wait, this space is available to them. 💛

To help us keep this option available for those who need it, we ask that everyone treat this second area as a quiet space, saving play, louder conversations, and more active activities for our main waiting room.

We’re excited to have the space to offer more than one way to wait—because comfort can look a little different for everyone. 🌿

Many have asked how to offer their support and we love the words of kindness and compassion. If you are able and want to help financially, Taylor's family has set up a gofundme page to help with monetary costs during this time.

Our Healing Forward Therapy family is heartbroken to share that one of our therapists recently experienced the sudden loss of her husband.

During this incredibly difficult season, she will be away from the office as she grieves and cares for herself and her family.

If you have questions, scheduling needs, or require assistance while she is away, please contact our office. Our team will do everything we can to support you and help meet your needs during this time.

We kindly ask for your understanding and for your respect of her privacy, time, and space as she begins to navigate this profound loss. Your patience, compassion, and grace are deeply appreciated as we surround her with support.

As a practice, we seek to weep with those who weep and mourn with those who mourn, surrounding our colleague and her family with love, prayer, and support during this difficult season.

Thank you for extending kindness, compassion, and grace as she takes the time she needs to grieve.
