Kara Kara provides bereavement support to children, teens, families and adults. Kara is dedicated to ensuring that therapy services are accessible to the community.

Our vision is to see people of all ages compassionately supported on their journey through grief so they can move toward renewed hope and meaning. Kara services offer emotional support and information to those grieving a death or coping with a terminal illness. Kara provides a safe place to express and normalize feelings of grief, to learn to integrate grief and move forward with renewed hope and meaning. Kara offers both peer support and therapy

Kara peer services are provided by volunteers with experience in healing from their own personal loss; volunteers who are carefully screened, trained and supervised. Donations are gratefully accepted as we do not charge a fee for peer support services. Grief therapy services are provided by interns who have completed their course requirements and are working on their client hours for licensing. Therefore Kara provides services for a reasonable fee and program staff will be happy to discuss the fee schedule with you. Kara does not espouse a particular religion or philosophy. We encourage those we serve to draw strength from their own personal spiritual beliefs, family, friends and other community resources to build sustaining support.

Kara y Q Corner le invitan a participar en una capacitación educativa sobre el impacto del fentanilo y otros opioides en la crisis de sobredosis. Las personas participantes aprenderán a reconocer las señales de una sobredosis por opioides y cómo responder mediante la administración de naloxona (Narcan), un medicamento que puede salvar vidas.

Se proporcionarán gratuitamente naloxona y tiras reactivas para detectar fentanilo a todas las personas asistentes.

Kara and Q Corner invite you to join us for an educational training on the impact of fentanyl and other opioids on the overdose crisis. Participants will learn how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and respond by administering Naloxone (Narcan), a life-saving medication.

Free Naloxone and fentanyl test strips will be provided to all attendees.

We invite you to connect with others, share your experiences, and learn from the stories of those around you. Honoring that everyone has unique tools and needs while grieving, this workshop focuses on normalizing grief and fostering a supportive community where you can feel seen, heard, and accompanied throughout your journey.

Together, we will create a virtual space where participants can explore grief, share stories, and reflect through gentle, guided activities and small-group discussions. This is a place to honor your grief, connect with others, and find belonging in the midst of loss.

Acompáñenos en esta gran tradición y participe en nuestra ofrenda comunitaria, dejando una foto, flores, arte o cualquier cosa que honre a su ser querido. Nuestra celebración conmemorativa el día viernes 30 de octubre incluirá comida, música, artes expresivas y actividades para niños.


Dia De Los Mu***os (Day of the Dead) is a celebration to honor and remember the relationship with our ancestors and loved ones who have died. You can participate in our community altar by dropping off a picture, flowers, art, or anything that honors your loved ones. Our celebration of remembrance on October 30 includes food, music, expressive arts, and children’s activities.
