A vaginal microbiome rich in lactobacillus species has a lower risk of miscarriage and preterm birth.

Research supports that recurrent implantation failure in IVF treatment is more common in patients who have less lactobacillus species present and have an overgrowth of pathogenic microbes such as Gardenerella and Escherichia.

Conventional treatment for this includes combined antibiotic treatment and vaginal probiotics. We also know from research that there is a link between intestinal dysbiosis and the vaginal microbiome.

𝘞𝘩𝘺? The reference is PCOS was deemed to be inaccurate. Pathological ovarian cysts are not involved in PCOS/ PMOS as the name implies. It is the ovarian function that is present in PMOS which can result in immature follicles and anovulation.
