Introducing our newest team member... Maryam!
Maryam received her master’s degree from Governors State University in Clinical Psychology. She has experience working with domestic violence survivors and is passionate about advocating for individuals who might not have access to mental health resources. With that experience, Maryam has built strong therapeutic relationships with clients and provided a safe environment for them to share their narratives. Maryam believes that therapy can be effective when we learn how to practice self-compassion and self-forgiveness. She feels passionate about seeing individuals in a holistic perspective and empowering them to change their lives. Maryam has an interest in Acceptance and Commitment therapy, as well as mindfulness skills. She is also interested in providing family-focused therapy to help with generational trauma as well. Maryam is available during the week for in-person and telehealth sessions. Maryam is fluent in Arabic.
“As an emerging therapist, I value curiosity, empathy, and lifelong learning. Having recently completed my internship, I am continuing to deepen my understanding of imposter syndrome and religious/spiritual trauma to better support clients navigating shame, identity, belonging, and personal growth”.
