Since we acknowledge the human being to be a miniature universe, we then recognize each gland to represent an interior star or planet. Paracelsus understood this mystery well for he taught: Heaven operates within us. Each star in our solar system has a special influence over a corresponding interior star. He declared that the sun ruled the pineal gland; the moon the pituitary; and Mercury, messenger between gods and humans, the thyroid which is the bridge connecting the personality with the soul and spirit.
Medical science scoffs at these
“superstitions” — yet it cannot ignore the fact that the glands operate somewhat in cycles and these cycles, controlled by the pituitary, harmonize with certain cycles of the moon.
