Meet Tori a FSW Alumni:

My name is Tori , and I am living proof that recovery is possible.

There was a time when addiction completely consumed my life. I overdosed four times, was arrested multiple times, lost custody of my children, and carried more shame than I thought anyone could ever overcome. Every promise I made to myself was broken by addiction, and I truly believed I would die before I ever found freedom.

Walking into Florida springs changed the course of my life. It was the place where hope began to replace hopelessness. Recovery wasn’t easy, and healing took time, but treatment gave me the foundation I needed to rebuild my life one day at a time.

Today, I have been clean since November 29, 2019, and by the grace of God, my life looks completely different. I have restored relationships with my children, I’m pursuing a degree in psychology so I can help others struggling with addiction and trauma, and I now help lead a Celebrate Recovery ministry at my church. What once felt like the greatest failures of my life have become the very things God uses to encourage others who are still fighting.

One of the greatest gifts of recovery has been discovering that my story has purpose. I now have the privilege of walking alongside people who are where I once was—reminding them that they are not beyond hope and that healing is possible.

To anyone reading this who feels trapped, ashamed, or convinced that you’ll never change, please hear me: don’t give up. I overdosed four times. I lost almost everything. But treatment gave me the opportunity to begin again, and that decision saved my life.

I will always be grateful for the staff who believed in me, challenged me, and never stopped seeing the person underneath the addiction. Because of them, I was given the chance to fight for my future.

Recovery isn’t just about getting clean. It’s about getting your life back. It’s about becoming the person you were created to be. If you’re willing to take that first step, there is hope waiting for you.

If my story can help even one person choose treatment instead of another day in addiction, then every part of my journey has been worth sharing.

Meet Donnie, a FSW Alumni.

Four years ago today, I made the decision to stop drinking. I thought quitting alcohol would solve all my problems, what I found was that sobriety wasn't the finish line- it was the starting line.

These four years have been about learning to live life on life's terms. I've had to face regrets instead of running from them and become willing to let go of the person alcohol turned me into. It hasn't always been easy, but it has been worth it.

Today I'm grateful for every person who believed in me when I couldn't believe in myself. Everyday I woke up with another chance to do the right thing.

If your struggling today, know this: you dont have to have it all figured out. You just have to be willing to take the first step. Recovery is possible, one day at a time.

Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. Here's to another 24 hours.

Meet Jacqueline a FSW Alumni:

I came to Florida Springs for the 2nd time on October 18th, 2023. This was my last time getting clean off of m**h. I got to a point in my life where I had lost my family, my home, my job, and I was fighting to get my son back thru DCF and was at termination of parental rights. I was in a very abusive and toxic relationship and was putting a needle in my arm several times a day. My daughter wouldn't speak to me. My family had basically disowned me. I was on probation and heading for the grave. I decided after my first overdose that som**hing had to change! This time had to be the last! And it was! I've since been clean, got my son back and my case is closed. I am building a relationship with my 17 year old daughter, got the love of my family, met someone who is an absolutely amazing man, had another beautiful boy, completed probation and most importantly I've got myself back! Life isn't perfect but it's better than I could ever have imagined! I have an amazing life in recovery! I have the most amazing sponsor and I also sponsor other women thru the program of Narcotics Anonymous. It was the love and acceptance of the people at Florida Springs who gave me the start I needed to build the life I have today! I'm proud to say that I'm an addict in recovery and this year will be 3 years for me! That's the longest I've ever had clean from a 24 year active addiction to drugs and alcohol! 💜 thank you to all of you for being there for me when I needed it most and for continuing to support me in my recovery.
