Today Kristi Carter Weil met with Arlington Mayor Jim Ross to discuss the importance of supporting the mental health and well-being of Arlington’s first responders.
As former Arlington Police Officers, Jim and Kristi share a deep understanding of the demands of public safety—and a passion for ensuring that the people who spend their careers taking care of our community are also taken care of.
With budget season upon us, conversations like these are especially important. Investing in accessible, effective mental health resources for our first responders isn’t just about responding when someone is in crisis. It’s about prevention, resilience, early intervention, and building systems of support that sustain first responders throughout their careers and beyond.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to have these conversations and to continue advocating for the people who serve Arlington every day.
