Hallelujah! We always have hope! The Bible starts with God making life and light from dark chaos. And he just keeps going from there! No matter how messy things got, no matter how people ruined situations, and no matter what tragedy took place, God knew and had a way of using it for good. Nothing is impossible with him.

Any move in the right direction must begin with honesty. Tell the truth (to yourself, to God, and to others) about where you are - then, go from there.

I've heard people say you have to "choose your hard." If we don't choose differently, the default will likely choose us. Change can be daunting, but simple choices can actually make a big difference - and they can be implemented one at a time. There doesn't have to be a total overhaul all at once. Justin Whitmel Earley's book "The Body Teaches the Soul" offers several habits that, if put into actual practice, can help us heal, body and spirit. Things like breathing techniques, lament, exercise, and sleep. It's nothing new, but it can be revolutionary. This week, try focusing on one helpful physical shift and see if you feel better mentally as well.
