One of the biggest misconceptions I hear is that supplements can completely replace what is lost during 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞.
Before menopause, nutritional deficiencies, stress, poor sleep, or other health issues can certainly contribute to symptoms. Addressing those factors is important.
But once the ovaries significantly reduce their production of estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone, no amount of supplements can fully replace what the body was naturally producing.
That doesn’t mean hormones are the answer to everything.
Hormone therapy can help address symptoms that result from h̲o̲r̲m̲o̲n̲e̲ ̲d̲e̲f̲i̲c̲i̲e̲n̲c̲y̲, but it doesn’t replace the need for healthy habits.
Sleep still matters.
Nutrition still matters.
Exercise still matters.
Stress management still matters.
Mental and emotional health still matter.
The best menopause care isn’t hormones instead of wellness.
It’s hormones and wellness working together.
If you’re struggling with symptoms, don’t fall into the trap of believing that you have to choose between evidence-based hormone therapy and a healthy lifestyle. The goal is to evaluate the whole person, identify the root causes of symptoms, and create a plan that addresses both.
Menopause management isn’t about choosing sides. It’s about using every effective tool available to help women feel their best.
