National Relaxation Day 🤍
Taking care of yourself isn’t selfish.
It isn’t frivolous.
And it isn’t something we should only do when we’re completely exhausted and have nothing left to give.
Rest is commanded.
God never intended for us to live in a constant state of striving, pouring out, and running on empty. Yet for so many of us—especially women—rest is something we have to be intentional about.
We encourage people to work harder. Give more. Do more. Push through.
Maybe we should start encouraging each other to rest, too.
Take the nap.
Book the facial.
Sit in the quiet.
Take care of your body.
Protect your peace.
Spend time with God without a to-do list waiting beside you.
Self-care isn’t always indulgence. Sometimes it’s stewardship—taking care of the body, mind, and spirit God entrusted to you.
“Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.” — Mark 6:31
Today, give yourself permission to rest. And maybe remind another woman that she has permission, too. 🤍
