Dr. Weikel is dedicated to helping infants, children, and teens thrive across every stage of development. Originally from California, Dr. Weikel completed medical training at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine and completed pediatric residency at The University of Texas, San Antonio. Following residency, she worked as a pediatric hospitalist before moving to Park City.

Hundreds of people showed up for Walk & Wine and together, we raised an incredible $956,000 to help provide healthcare to our neighbors who need it most.

Now, we’re asking the rest of our community to help us reach $1 million.

The need has never been greater. People’s Health Clinic expects to see 20–25% more patients this year as healthcare costs rise and coverage shrinks.

Immunizations (Vaccines) - How do vaccines work?

A vaccine shows your immune system a safe, imitation version of a germ. It cannot make you sick the way the real germ can. Your body looks at it and says, "I'll remember this," and builds defenses against it. Later, if the real germ ever shows up, your body already recognizes it and fights it off fast, before it can make you very sick.

What to expect
- Your arm may be sore, and you may feel tired for a day or two. That is your body building protection. It passes.
- Protection takes a couple of weeks to build. You can still get sick during that time.
- Many vaccines need more than one dose to work fully. Come back for the next one even if you feel fine.

Inmunizaciones (vacunas): ¿Cómo funcionan las vacunas?
Una vacuna le muestra a su sistema inmunitario una versión segura e imitada de un germen. Esta no puede enfermarle como lo haría el germen real. Su cuerpo la reconoce, "memoriza" la información y crea defensas contra ella. Más adelante, si el germen real aparece, su cuerpo ya lo identifica y lo combate rápidamente, antes de que pueda causarle una enfermedad grave.
Qué esperar
