Not every aesthetic goal needs the same treatment. 💉✨

Toxin, filler, Sculptra, and PRP all work differently—and the “best” option depends on what you’re actually trying to improve.

〰️ Toxin → softens lines caused by muscle movement
〰️ Filler → restores volume and enhances structure
〰️ Sculptra → stimulates collagen for gradual volume and support
〰️ PRP → uses components from your own blood to support skin quality and natural repair processes

For patients who tell us, “I just want to look refreshed. I still want to look like me,” PRP can be a beautiful option—especially when the goal is skin quality rather than changing facial structure.

And sometimes? The answer isn’t choosing just one.

The best treatment plan starts with your face, your goals, and your priorities—not the syringe.

Curious which approach makes the most sense for you? Come see us for a personalized consultation. 🤍

New in the clinic 💧

I’m always looking for high-quality products that I actually use and feel good about offering to my patients, and Re-Lyte has been one of my favorites.

I love that it has zero grams of added sugar, no added colors, and is keto, paleo & vegan-friendly—plus, it’s a local company, which makes me love supporting them even more. 🤍

I use Re-Lyte Hydration for my runs, workouts, and especially during these hot summer months when I’m sweating more. And this summer, my kids have become big fans of Re-Lyte Kids too!

We now have some of our favorite 60-serving tubs in the clinic, along with individual Hydration and Kids sticks in different flavors so you can try them and find your favorite.

Just another fun addition to the clinic that I’m excited to share with you! 💦

Dinner and peptides 🧬

Spent last night at a clinical education dinner learning more about the rapidly evolving science around peptides — including BPC-157, TB-500, MOTS-C, Epitalon, Semax and KPV.

There’s certainly no shortage of conversation around peptides right now, but emerging interest doesn’t always equal established evidence.

For me, continuing education is about staying curious and staying informed — learning what the research is showing, understanding where the evidence is still limited, and following how this space continues to evolve.

Medicine and wellness are constantly changing. My goal is to keep learning so that as the science, evidence and options evolve, Aura Vida is informed and ready for what comes next. 🧬

A big thank you to Mountain View Pharmacy for putting together such a great educational evening and creating a space for providers to learn, ask questions and dig deeper into this evolving are

Shared for educational purposes only. Many of the peptides discussed are not FDA-approved for the uses presented, and human clinical evidence remains limited.

For years, the conversation around menopausal hormone therapy often included one familiar phrase: “the lowest dose for the shortest duration necessary.”

But should duration really be determined by an arbitrary expiration date?

This new study adds an interesting piece to that conversation.

Researchers examined hormone therapy history in more than 1,400 women who later underwent brain autopsy. Longer hormone therapy use—particularly 8–16 years—was associated with substantially lower odds of LATE-NC, a dementia-related brain pathology. Starting hormone therapy closer to menopause was also associated with lower odds.

This does NOT mean that 8–16 years is the “right” duration of hormone therapy, or that hormone therapy has been proven to prevent dementia. This was an observational study, so it cannot establish cause and effect.

But it does challenge the idea that longer hormone therapy exposure should automatically be viewed as something to avoid.

Modern menopause care has increasingly moved away from arbitrary stopping rules. The decision to continue hormone therapy should be individualized—considering symptoms, age, timing, benefits, risks, medical history, and patient preferences.

And studies like this raise an intriguing question that deserves more research:

🧠 Could the timing AND duration of hormone exposure during midlife have implications for brain health decades later?

That is a very different conversation from simply asking, “How quickly can we stop hormones?”

☀️ Summer is the perfect time to support your hormones.

Longer days, more sunshine, fresh foods, and time outdoors can all work in your favor—but summer can also bring dehydration, poor sleep, travel, and increased stress, all of which can affect hormone balance.

Here are a few simple ways to help your hormones thrive this season:

💧 Stay hydrated to support every cell in your body.
🥗 Prioritize protein, healthy fats, and colorful fruits and vegetables.
😴 Protect your sleep—even during vacations and late summer nights.
☀️ Get safe sunlight to support your circadian rhythm and vitamin D.
🚶‍♀️ Keep moving with strength training, walks, or your favorite outdoor activity.
🧘‍♀️ Make time to unwind and keep stress in check.

Small, consistent habits can make a big difference in how you feel.

✨ Hair Changes During Menopause Aren’t “Just Part of Aging.”

If you’ve noticed your ponytail getting thinner, increased shedding, or less volume after menopause, you’re not imagining it.

As hormone levels decline, hair growth cycles can change—leading to finer, thinner, and slower-growing hair.

That’s why we love Nutrafol Women’s Balance.

This physician-formulated supplement is designed specifically for women ages 45+ experiencing hair thinning related to hormonal changes. It works from the inside out by targeting multiple factors that influence healthy hair growth, including:

🌿 Hormonal balance
💆‍♀️ Stress
🔥 Oxidative stress
🌱 Nutritional support
🧬 Healthy hair follicles

Rather than masking the problem, Nutrafol Women’s Balance helps create an environment where healthier, fuller-looking hair can thrive.

✨ Healthy hormones. Healthy hair. Healthy you.

✨ Estradiol: More Than Just a “Female Hormone”

When people hear the word estradiol, they often think only about menopause. But estradiol is one of the most important hormones for overall health—and its effects extend far beyond hot flashes.

Estradiol helps support:
💗 Heart health
🦴 Strong bones and osteoporosis prevention
🧠 Brain function, memory, and mental clarity
😊 Mood and emotional well-being
💧 Healthy skin hydration, collagen, and elasticity
🌸 Vaginal and urinary health
🔥 Sexual wellness and libido
💪 Muscle maintenance and recovery

As estradiol declines with age, many women notice changes that they assume are simply “getting older.” The truth is that hormone changes can contribute to these symptoms—and there may be options to help.

Every woman is different. The goal isn’t to chase high hormone levels—it’s to thoughtfully optimize hormones based on your symptoms, health history, and laboratory findgs.

If your skin feels tight, flaky, or dull, it may need more than a basic moisturizer.

Why we love it:
💧 Intense hydration
🛡️ Helps strengthen the skin barrier
✨ Leaves skin softer and smoother

Healthy skin starts with a healthy skin barrier. When your skin barrier is supported, your skin is better able to retain moisture, defend against environmental stressors, and maintain a radiant, youthful appearance.

Testosterone isn’t just a men’s hormone.

Both men and women need healthy testosterone levels to feel their best.

When testosterone is low, you may experience:
• Low energy
• Brain fog
• Decreased libido
• Reduced muscle strength
• Increased body fat
• Mood changes
• Poor exercise recovery

For women, testosterone also supports:
✨ Energy
✨ Muscle and bone health
✨ Sexual wellness
✨ Overall sense of well-being

For men, healthy testosterone is important for:
💪 Muscle mass and strength
❤️ Libido and sexual function
🧠 Focus and mood
⚡ Energy and motivation

If you’re struggling with symptoms, don’t assume it’s just “getting older.”

At Aura Vida Health & Wellness, we believe hormone therapy should be personalized.
