We ventured out to Spadgenske Dairy Farm, one of the largest dairy farms in our area, and we were so excited for this adventure! We had the opportunity to see so many amazing things during our visit.

We met the donkeys that help protect the livestock, and one curious donkey even considered hopping onto the bus! We also saw baby calves that were only a day or two old. The farmers even brought one calf onto the bus so we could get an up-close look.
Next, we visited the young stock and the milking herd. We were amazed by the many different colors and breeds of cows. One of the highlights of the trip was driving our bus right into the barn, where we watched the cows eat.

As we continued our tour, we saw the large plastic-wrapped hay bales and the silage pile. We learned about the different breeds of cows, why some hay bales are wrapped in plastic, and how silage is made to feed the cattle throughout the year.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Spadgenske family for welcoming us to their farm and making this educational experience so informative, engaging, and fun!

Our Garden Party in the courtyard was a wonderful afternoon filled with great food, music, and even better company!

Residents and their families enjoyed grilled burgers with all the fixings, pasta salad, tomato and cucumber salad, chips, fresh watermelon, and refreshing lemonade. The courtyard was beautifully decorated, creating the perfect festive atmosphere. We were also treated to fantastic live music that had everyone smiling.

To help everyone stay cool, each table was set with adorable handheld fans, and some of our amazing staff even shared a dance or two with our residents. It was especially wonderful to see families join in the celebration, spending quality time together and making special memories with their loved ones.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped plan, prepare, decorate, serve, entertain, and make this Garden Party such a memorable experience for our residents and their families. Your kindness, teamwork, and dedication made the day truly special, and we couldn't have done it without you!

Who doesn't remember going to a 4th of July parade? We were so fortunate that the Park Rapids 4th of July Parade came right down the street in front of our building! Residents and family members gathered along the parade route to enjoy the festivities, waved to the participants, and soaked up the patriotic spirit. Many of the generous candy throwers even came over to make sure our residents received treats, placing candy directly into their bags. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on everyone's faces—and just how much candy our residents collected! Thank you to everyone who helped make this Independence Day tradition such a fun and memorable experience!

Fun new games are always a hit with our residents! Today we played a duck hunting game by lining up rubber ducks on top of cups and using Nerf blasters to see how many ducks we could knock down. Some residents had a little help from our staff, and a few employees even became unexpected targets when they got hit by a few foam darts! The room was filled with laughter, smiles, and friendly competition. It was such a fun activity, and we'll definitely be adding this one to our calendar again!

Holidays are always one of our favorite times to celebrate with our residents. To kick off the festivities, we made a festive fruit pizza together in the morning and enjoyed it in the afternoon with a refreshing drink. While sharing our treat, we visited, laughed, and reminisced about other favorite foods and traditions we enjoy on the Fourth of July.

The other evening after supper, we explored the Park Rapids Sculpture Trail. We walked through Red Bridge Park, admiring the creativity and craftsmanship that went into each sculpture. Some of us couldn't resist stopping to have our pictures taken with our favorite pieces. We then drove around town to find the rest of the sculptures, learning about each artist, the materials used to create the artwork, and the story behind every piece.

We are so fortunate to live in a community that values and celebrates public art. The Sculpture Trail is a wonderful addition to Park Rapids, offering beauty, inspiration, and an opportunity to learn while enjoying our town. Thank you to everyone who made this incredible exhibit possible and for sharing it with our community.

We've had such a wonderful variety of activities lately! One of the highlights was a fantastic magic show. We were excited to invite our friends from Century Adventures to join us, and they even had the chance to participate in some of the magic tricks!

We were all amazed by the tricks Calvin performed. His show kept everyone entertained and guessing from beginning to end. Thank you, Calvin, for sharing your talent and giving us such a fun and memorable experience. We hope you'll come back soon with even more amazing tricks to show us!
