Today on Nurses Day and the start of Nurses Week, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible nurses who care for patients, support clinical teams, and bring compassion and humanity to healthcare every single day.

I have had the privilege of working alongside so many extraordinary nurses throughout my career, and I continue to be inspired by your clinical excellence, resilience, teamwork, advocacy, and compassionate care. The impact you make extends far beyond the bedside and touches the lives of patients, families, colleagues, and communities in profound ways.

Thank you for your dedication, your strength, and the countless ways you show up for others. Nurses are the heart of healthcare. I appreciate you today and every day. There are too many of you to tag, but you know who you are! 💙🩺

Today is Doctors’ Day and I want to take a moment to recognize and thank my physician colleagues.

As a fellow physician, I see you. I see the sleepless nights. I see the sacrifice. I see the exhaustion. I see the worry. I see the dedication. I see the fulfillment. I see the joy, wonder, and awe of our profession. Being a doctor is a privilege like no other. We transform lives. The lives of our patients, our healthcare teams, and our own.

I know the responsibility you carry, the complexity of the decisions you make, and the quiet weight of stress. I see the compassionate care you provide, the knowledge and skill you bring to every patient, the deep sense of dedication that drives you to keep showing up, and the leadership you bring to the healthcare team.

I am deeply grateful for who you are and for the work you do. Your impact reaches far beyond the bedside. It lives in the trust of your patients, the strength of your teams, and the well-being of our communities.

Today is also a reminder to all of us that caring for others must include caring for ourselves and each other. Whole person care begins with how we care for one another. Only when we are aligned in body, mind, and spirit can we provide whole person care and deliver the clinical excellence our patients deserve. Prioritizing physician well-being is not optional. It is essential to sustaining this calling and preserving the meaning in our work.

It is an honor to walk alongside you in this profession. Thank you for leading, caring, and serving with passion, purpose, and heart.

Thank you for all that you do, today and every day. Let’s celebrate each other!
❤️ 🎉 🩺

Spent a few days in Naples, FL for work. Had a great time speaking about emotional intelligence and clinical AI as a part of wellness centered leadership to a very engaged and appreciative crowd. Made some new friends and even squeezed in some time at the Botanic Gardens and beach! No better feeling than toes in the sand & waves and watching a beautiful sunset over water!! Sunshine is good for the soul - I’m one happy girl! 🏖️🌊🌺

Today has been an emotional day. 💔 It’s hard to believe my beautiful father has been gone a year. I’ve missed him every single day. His giggles, wisdom, love, and steady guidance are deeply missed. Not a day has passed that I haven’t wanted to talk to and hug him.

Mom and I spent the day reflecting, remembering, and honoring Dad with prayers at the Hindu temple, sharing our favorite memories, eating Chinese food which he loved, and doing some retail therapy for which he would have wanted to know how much money we spent on things we didn’t need.

People tell me they love seeing me thriving and enjoying life. The truth is, life keeps moving forward whether you’re ready or not, and that still feels surreal. But that is also my dad’s legacy as he approached life with unwavering optimism. He was the strongest person I’ve ever known, full of courage and zest for life, and he would expect nothing less from me.

This year has been hard. I’ve smiled bravely, compartmentalized grief, and kept putting one foot in front of the other focused on the future with gratitude. What I’ve learned is this. I am my father’s daughter. Bold, brave, strong, and resilient. And now I know I can survive anything.

Thank you to those who called and texted this weekend - I appreciate you more than words can express.

Miss you so much and love you always, my sweet Pithaji. ❤️‍🩹

Merry Christmas from our family to yours! We’re definitely missing dad as he was a big kid who loved to open presents, giggle, and watch football. Getting the monkeys to smile for a photo is an impossible task, but we had a great time laughing and creating new memories! Hope your day was full of love, joy, laughter, and peace. 🎄🎅🎉🏈💕

This is the last photo of me and my sweet dad together, Christmas Day last year. He was a warrior until the end. Today he would have been 85 years old. Dad would always stay awake until midnight so he could be the first person to wish me happy birthday. So, I decided to stay awake until midnight to honor his birthday and wish him a Happy Spiritual Birthday! 🎂 My heart aches as I miss him daily, but I’m grateful for his lifetime of love, support, guidance, inspiration, and wisdom. I was blessed to have an amazing father and will always cherish the laughter and moments we shared. ❤️‍🩹🙏🏽💔

Congratulations to these Nobel Prize recipients in Medicine! 🎉

BREAKING NEWS
The Nobel Assembly at Karolinska Institutet has decided to award the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine to Mary E. Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi “for their discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance.”

This year’s medicine laureates have discovered how the immune system is kept in check. The body’s powerful immune system must be regulated, or it may attack our own organs. Brunkow, Ramsdell and Sakaguchi have been awarded this year’s medicine prize for their groundbreaking discoveries concerning peripheral immune tolerance that prevents the immune system from harming the body.

The laureates identified the immune system’s security guards, regulatory T cells, which prevent immune cells from attacking our own body.

The laureates’ discoveries launched the field of peripheral tolerance, spurring the development of medical treatments for cancer and autoimmune diseases. This may also lead to more successful transplantations. Several of these treatments are now undergoing clinical trials.
