Scenes from Sensory Camp 2026: X Marks the Spot!⚓🌴 Our youngest pirate friends joined us last week for our annual Sensory Camp, which brings together youth across our Autism Connections and Circle 21 programming to set anchor and build solid foundations for the school year ahead through inclusive, experiential, and sensory-friendly experiences together!

Thank you to the incredible team of staff, volunteers, and community partners who made this event successful once again! We'd especially like to thank:
-WVABLE for sponsoring our Sensory Bin and Andrea Kramer for donating additional 3-D fidgets!
-Artsbridge, Inc. and our Artbeat Studio team for providing inclusive art activities!
-WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center Occupational and Physical Therapy for providing accessible and active opportunities!
-Appalachian Council Head Start, Children's Home Society of WV - Parkersburg Site, Center for Excellence in Disabilities at WVU WV F2F and P4P Programs, and InMotion Neuro Rehab Center for setting up and sharing about the services you provide at Wednesday's Resource Fair!

Transitions for people with disabilities and their families are an area of emphasis here at the WVU CED. We love seeing resources to help people through life's many transitions, whether they are for independent living, employment, education, or health care.

Check out this recorded webinar by the folks at Family Voices, Got Transition, the Center for Transition to Adult Health Care for Youth with Disabilities, and the Raise Center called "Stepping forward, stepping back: How parents can support youth moving to adult health care." There's also a Spanish-language version and an option to just view the presentation slides.

Every time we spend time with Wood County Society, we're reminded that joy is contagious, kindness is powerful, and the little moments are often the ones that mean the most. These amazing individuals don't just make us smile—they fill our hearts in ways that are hard to put into words💪🏼🎉

Wood County Society Autism Connections Program announces the 4th Annual Sensory Camp -X Marks the Spot! is scheduled for July 29th and 30th at New Hope Baptist Church on Rosemar Rd.
Youth will enjoy sensory intervention, art in the form of therapy, PT/OT, social groups, STEM Play, and so much more during sensory camp!

Autism Sensory Camp is for youth ages 3-12.
