Dear Members,

The pool will reopen tomorrow morning for regularly scheduled hours at 5:30 AM! We’re happy to share that the water is back up to its normal 84 degrees, so all water classes will also begin as scheduled tomorrow.

All necessary repairs have been completed, and we utilized this downtime to complete our annual shutdown. The pool has been thoroughly cleaned, maintained, and prepared for use.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we worked to get everything back in great shape. We look forward to welcoming you back to the pool!

See you tomorrow morning!

Thank you!

💦 POOL CLOSURE UPDATE 💦

To our valued members,

Unfortunately, due to an unexpected mechanical issue, our pool will be closed until further notice. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding while we work to get the issue resolved.

We are, however, going to make the most of this unexpected closure! Since the pool will already be unavailable, we will take advantage of this time to complete our annual pool shutdown and maintenance at the same time.

The good news? 🙌 This means we will NOT need to have our regularly scheduled week-long pool shutdown later in the year! 🎉

We know how important our pool and aquatic programs are to our members, and we appreciate your continued support as we work to keep our facility in the best possible condition.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued membership with the Camden Clark Health & Wellness Center! ❤️

We’ll keep you updated and let you know as soon as the pool is ready to reopen. 🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️

As temperatures continue to rise, protecting student-athletes from heat-related illness is more important than ever.

We're proud to recognize Amanda Moore, ATC, athletic trainer at Parkersburg South High School, for helping keep our local student-athletes safe. Amanda recently spoke with WTAP News about the importance of recognizing the signs of heat illness, staying properly hydrated, allowing time for heat acclimatization, and taking the right precautions during practices and competitions.

At the Camden Clark Health & Wellness Center, we're proud to have dedicated professionals like Amanda on our team, working tirelessly behind the scenes to protect the health and safety of our community's student-athletes

🌟 Your bones don't have to grow weaker with age—you have the power to make them stronger.
💪🦴Research published in The Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research shows that progressive resistance training—specifically working up to heavy compound lifts—is one of the single best ways to spike your bone mineral density. When you challenge your body with external resistance, your skeleton actively adapts to the mechanical stress by packing on new mineral layers. It turns out that building a break-resistant frame requires a bit more heavy lifting than just crushing your daily dairy intake! 🏋️‍♂️
✨Great compound movements to start with include: Squats: Directly loads the spine and hip joints.
Deadlifts: Strengthens the lumbar spine and hip complex.
Overhead Presses: Builds structural density in the upper skeleton. Farmer's Carries: Forces the entire skeletal frame to stabilize and adapt.
