Nothing says summer quite like homemade ice cream!

This afternoon, our residents gathered out in the pavilion to enjoy a sweet treat, good conversation, and plenty of smiles. From the first scoop to the last, everyone enjoyed cooling off with delicious homemade ice cream while soaking up the fresh air and spending time together.

It’s the simple moments like these that make the sweetest memories. 🍦☀️💙

Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water… 🦈

Shark Week made its way to OVHC! Residents had a fintastic time enjoying a special showing of Jaws 2, complete with shark-themed party favors, tasty treats, and our signature Shark Punch. There were plenty of laughs, smiles, and just the right amount of suspense as everyone got into the Shark Week spirit.

It’s safe to say this activity was a jaw-some success! Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of fun, fellowship, and a little movie magic. 🦈🍿💙

🎉 Today, OVHC proudly celebrated the West Virginia Health Care Association’s 50th Anniversary! 🎉

Residents and staff came together to mark this special milestone with delicious cake, great company, and plenty of smiles. It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate not only 50 years of the WVHCA’s dedication to quality long-term care, but also the incredible sense of community we share here at OVHC.

Here’s to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking forward to many more years of compassionate care and meaningful moments together. Happy 50th Anniversary, WVHCA! 🎂💙

🌱 Our courtyard garden is thriving, and our residents are loving every minute of watching it grow! From planting seeds to seeing fresh vegetables flourish, it’s been so rewarding to watch their hard work pay off.

There’s something special about tending a garden—it brings fresh air, purpose, and plenty of smiles. Our residents enjoy checking on their plants each day and celebrating every new vegetable that appears.

The garden is filled with a wonderful variety of homegrown vegetables, and with those beautiful green tomatoes growing, one question comes to mind… who doesn’t love some fried green tomatoes? 🍅💚

We’re so proud of our resident gardeners and can’t wait to see what they harvest next! 🌿

After enjoying some delicious treats at Table Talk, Activities headed outside to the pavilion for a refreshing water balloon fight! 💦☀️

Residents had an absolute blast taking aim at the Activities Department, who happily volunteered to be the targets! The silver lining? On a hot summer day like today, we definitely appreciated the chance to cool off right alongside everyone else. 😄

The pavilion was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of smiles. Judging by the grins on everyone’s faces, it’s safe to say a great time was had by all! Days like these remind us that you’re never too old to enjoy a little summertime fun.

Today’s Table Talk was a delicious success! 😋🍴

A huge thank you to our amazing Chef Tere for preparing a Homemade Monte Cristo Empanada served with a French raspberry coulis, along with warm, bite-sized pumpkin mini doughnuts for everyone to enjoy.

Residents had a wonderful time visiting, sharing conversation, and savoring these delicious homemade treats. It’s always special when great food brings everyone together and creates smiles around the table. Thank you, Chef Tere, for making today’s Table Talk such a memorable and enjoyable experience! ❤️

Nothing says comfort food quite like mac & cheese! 🧀🍴

Today at OVHC, we celebrated National Mac & Cheese Day with a delicious Mac & Cheese Bar for our residents and staff! Everyone enjoyed customizing their bowls with a variety of tasty toppings, making it a fun and flavorful way to celebrate.

A huge thank you to our amazing chef, Tere, and the entire Dietary Department for putting together such a wonderful spread. Your hard work, creativity, and dedication made today’s celebration a big success. We appreciate all you do to make mealtimes special for our residents!

🎯 Bullseyes, big smiles, and a little friendly competition! Today our residents had a blast during Nerf Gun Target Practice. Everyone had the chance to test their aim, cheer each other on, and celebrate every great shot.

Activities like this help encourage hand-eye coordination, focus, movement, and plenty of laughter along the way. It was wonderful to see so many smiles and hear the excitement throughout the room!

Great job to all of our sharpshooters. We can’t wait for the next challenge!
