Living Sublimely Well

Living Sublimely Well Integrating holistic modalities to help you tap into the joys of life. That's Living Sublimely Well. What was I trying to do that humid morning?

Founded by Elizabeth Scala MSN/MBA, RN, RYT200 a holistic nurse, registered yoga instructor, reiki master, and plant grower

The Backstory...
At 6:38 AM, I flew over the handlebars and crashed to the ground, my bike pinning me under it. Too many things to name! Most of my career I was a non-stop, can’t sit still, mover and shaker. A successful nurse researcher, living the dream, and then…

BAM! Ev

erything changed. I fractured my elbow, required surgery, and developed complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). It took me close to six months to realize… there’s more to life than running the hamster wheel. With time & space for healing, I found truth in the saying, “Everything happens for a reason.”

I've left my nursing career for a healthier, happier life at Living Sublimely Well. I teach gentle yoga and qigong, providing healing modalities to the community. As a certified holistic nurse, yoga instructor, and plant grower, I help people stay accountable to the joys of living a healthy, happy life. Feel free to reach out. If you’re moving a plant from a smaller pot to a bigger container, or if you’re moving a plant from the pot into the ground, you never want to move them into full sun immediately.

So, if you’re taking a plant from a smaller container and moving it into a bigger one, keep it in the shade or dappled light for the day. If you’re planting a plant from a pot out into the ground, try not to do it in the full sun of the day.

Moving a plant, even a strong, healthy one can be a little shocking for the plant. Even if it’s already been out in the full sun, the day you move it try to keep it in the shade or in dappled light.

You can put it back into the full sun the next day, but you don’t want to traumatize it any further the day that you’re moving it.

Hope that gardening tip helps! Happy growing, friends!

This is what I’m thankful for right now. On many levels. Gifts from the garden- in body, mind, and spirit.

These are the “snacking bowl.”

I already hulled 21 pounds of them, separating them into jam container, freezing container, and baking over the weekend container.

I’m too tired to wash and start working through them right now, so they’re in the fridge overnight so I can process them tomorrow.

You better hurry to Crooked Tree Farm before I’m ready to get more 🤣🤣

(Just kidding- they have LOADS of beautiful 🍓 left. Located on West Liberty Road, just outside of Stewartstown.)

Love it when projects go well.

Quick and easy installation of the insect netting on the brassica row. Never used it before but this product seems super durable.

Absolutely no wind last night so I had to take advantage of the perfect conditions.

Had to jump off the riding mower to snap a picture 😍Did you pause today?

Want a GORGEOUS centerpiece like this?

Contact me to grab your own Chamomile plant!

Chamomile is in season, and I’m here for it 😍 We’ve got about five Chamomile plants for sale. $6 per plant or three for $15.

Grown from seeds I harvested off my own plants. Cared for with love. Don’t delay; I’ve got a feeling these plants won’t last long!

Send me a message. Located in Parkton. Thanks for supporting our homestead 😊

Often times we focus on what’s not right…

People come into yoga class complaining about how cold it is. How rainy it’s been. How it gets dark so early and the daylight is super short.

But, I seldom hear people talking about the good.

So, can we all talk about how GORGEOUS it’s been!?!?!!!!!

Seriously. If you’re local to the Maryland area I HOPE you have expressed some kind of gratitude for the current weather.

Blue skies. Low humidity. Slight breezes. Perfect temperatures. The BEST. FREAKING. WEATHER.

Sleep with your windows open. Eat a meal outside. Sit down and enjoy a moment. Tell someone how beautiful it is outside.

Cause guess what? If you let the external environment dictate your internal mood, you’re more likely to remain upset.

So- here it is…

THIS HAS BEEN THE B E S T WEATHER WEEK IN A LONG TIME. And, I’m enjoying it!!!

Catch me outside 🌞💛🌞
