Happy PMOS Month!

Did you know PCOS has a new name.

As of May 2026 it's PMOS. Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome.

Not semantics. The old name pointed at cysts and one organ, so that's where the care went. Your insulin, your androgens, your heart risk, your skin, your mood, all of it sat in the blind spot that name created.

Your diagnosis doesn't change. Where your provider is supposed to look does.

A real workup is insulin, A1c, androgens, thyroid, lipids, inflammatory markers. Not an ultrasound and a prescription.
